(Special) Disillusioned after her one week of adventure with the Rev. William Othello Harrell, 50, grandfather, and ousted pastor of the Methodist church here, pretty Hazel Riley, 16, has returned to her home and father, George Riley, near Clearwater. "I've forgiven the child already," said Riley, "but i want that preacher." Harrell when last seen, according to Deputy State Sheiiff R. J. Hart, was with his wife in an automobile, "headed south and going fast. Find Girl Sunday. Hart found the girl Sunday night waiting table in the city marshal's restaurant at Hooper and brought her here. She fled to her father's arms last night and 'vas forgiven. At first the girl rctuscd to tell of her affair with the pastor-lover. "I just want to go home and for get," she said, but relenting later, she told of working in the minister's home for about eight months. Her presence caused trouble in the fami ly and finally the Rev. Mr. Harrell consented to "take her away to get work." Came to Omaha. Their travels brought them here, to Sioux City, Omaha, Fremont and Neligh. She traveled as his niece, but their affection for one another aroused suspicion and when her fath er learned she was not visiting Nor folk relatives as he had supposed, he swore out a warrant for the preacher. Mrs. Harrell was in an Omaha hospital. The preacher and the girl were at theFlomar hotel Wednes day night, the girl said, but, he did r.ot go. to see his .wife. Talked of Love. Blind Organ Grinder Loses Organ; Appeals to Police Mike McGinn is blind. He plays a hcrnd organ for a living and makes his home at 207 South Fourteenth street. Monday , Mike plied his trade a!ong Douglas, Farnam and Harney streets, between Fourteenth and Sixteenth streets. Somewhere along his route, he just doesn't remember where, he left his organ with his camp stool and a box of clothing. Now he can t find his things and has appealed to the police to help him. Anti-Alien Land Law Upheld by U. S. Court Tacoma, Wash., July 26. Mrs. Ida Crouch Hazlett of New York, national socialist orator, was grabbed and hauled away in an automobile here last night as she was about to begin a speech from the steps of the city library by men, who Chief of Police Saunders declares were mem bers and officers of the local post of the American Legion. She was taken to police headquarters where efforts were made by her captors to have hei detained. Police, however, refused to ' place her under arrest, and she was re leased. Mrs. Hazlett accused her captors of attempting to kidnap her and made an unsuccessful attempt to have them arrested. Maj. A. B. Van Wormer New Official at Fort Crook Maj. A. B. Van Wormer of the adjutant general's department of the United States army, has arrived at Fort Crook, Neb., to assume office as assistant to" the adjutant of the Sev enth army corps area. Pearl Doty and Harry Dalton of this county, who were arrested, charged with conducting one of the most ex tensive stills in this vicinity, were siren a hearing and placed under bonds of $1,500 each. Officials had to swim a river to get at the island where they were alleged to be operat ing. Two trucks loaded with equip' ment were confiscated. Four Hurt in Crash Minneapolis, July 26. S.Penfield, Nee Bacon, Seeks Divorce in Reno Property Settlements Made Out of Court Custody of Baby Daughter Given to Grandmother. Suit for divorce from Walter Scott Penfield. prominent in Washington diplomatic circles, was filed yester day in Reno, Ncv., by Mrs. Lucille Bacon Penfield. formerly of Omaha, charging desertion in July 1920. Property settlements have been made out of court. Custody of the child, Virginia Bacon. 2, goes to Mrs. Alice M. Bacon, mother of Mrs. Tenficld. Mrs. Penfield is the daughter of the late Frank Bacon of Omaha, at tended Brownell hall here and was prominent in Omaha society. She met Mr. Penfield while attending National Fark seminary in Washing ton. Their marriage was a brilliant affair at the All Saints Episcopal church in 1916 followed by an elaborate reception at the Bacon home. Mr. Penfield then was 37 and the bride 22. Mrs. Penfield spent the Christmas holidays last year with her mother at ' the Hotel Blackstone here, and removed to Reno several weeks later. Rumors of estrangement with her husband were denied by her at that time. , , American Express Driver Drowned in Carter Lake While wading in Carter lake on the last day of his vacation, Charles Dahm, 24, 709 South 1 wenty-seventh strct, was drowned Monday when stepped into a hole near the Carter Lake club grounds. Dahm is survived by his father, L. Dahm. He was a driver for the American Ex press company. Two gentlemen gunmen robbed me rational uti Keiunng station here, cleaning the till of about $50, out part of the days receipts. R. R. McKcnuau, in charge of the filling station at the time was taking the money from the cash drawer pre paratory to closing np for the night. The nu n entered the office and asked lor a drink of water. McKennan told them to help themselves at the faucet while the continued his work. Assuring themselves that McKen non was alone, one of the robbers poked a long-barreled revolver in the victim's ribs and ordered him to reach for the roof. The till was emptied and the thieves left without adieu, heading east afoot. Neigh bors in that vicinity saw three men in a car with lights out disappearing toward the east on the road to Omaha. The gunmen were well dressed and their coolness and dar ing manner frightened the man in charge of the station so that he failed to send out an alarm till they were cut of sight.
