Four Persons Injured In Accidents File Suits For $67,075 Damages Four suits totalling $76,075 were filed in district court Wednesday morning by attorneys for persons injured in automobile and street car accidents. The suits dated from April 20 to July 4. Leo Dargaccwski sues Louis Rogers, proprietor of a flower and confectionery shop, for $50,000 for in juries received at Twenty-eighth and Harney streets. Dargacewski is in the Nicholas Senn hospital in a criti cal condition. Margaret McAuliffe sued Frank Dwyer for $10,000 for, injuries re ceived in an accident at Twentieth and N streets. Briggs, its former vice Chief Witness Against One of Four Men Held for Murder Of Mrs. Ifyland Accuses Man's Cellmate Leo Brunson, one of four men ar rested charged with the shooting and killing of Mrs. Margaret Hyland, rainier, Neb., the night of June 4, was bound over to the district court after being given a preliminary hear ing Wednesday. Chief testimony against Brunson was given by J. W. Snodgrass, now president, and the Umana V an .and Storage company. The plaintiff asks for the phono graphs, now held by the storage company, for the cancellation of $3,000 in promissory notes and to re cover a $2,000 judgment for funds al ready paid to Briggs. The $5,000 settlement, of which $2,000 was paid in cash, November Robert Stastny, 21, only son of Dr. Olga Stastny, former Omaha physician, was killed in an airplane crash at Prague, Czecho-Slovakia, while on a visit to his mother, ac cording to a cable received Wednes day by Omaha relatives. v Stastny sailed for Bohemia June 4 and had planned to remain in Prague and go into Y. M. C. A. work, so he could be near his mother. He had attended military schools at Fort Sheridan and Wentworth. Dr. Stastny was in war work but iyM, was made because of threats by Briggs that he wou'd brinpr suit for a $10,000 annual salary and big commissions, according1 to the peti tion. But the payment was unlaw ful preference of one creditor over others, the paper sets forth.
