But the Visiting Xurse association, which administers the milk and ice fund, knows many families situated as this family was last year, where free milk and ice would be as a boon from heaven. Every penny received into the fund goes for the purchase of milk and ice for poor children. Not a cent is spent for salary or office ex pense. Out-of-Town Contribution!. Douglas county officials gracefully "passed the buck" to the state tax commissioner and state board of equalization yesterday afternoon on the subject of taxing hospitals, in stitutions and schools. Chairman Osborne of the state board of equaliiation recently sent word that these supposedly nonprofit-making institutions should be taxed.
