Schmader Kayos
Lee in Workout
Louisville, Neb., June ,29. (Spe
cial.) Andy Schmader is training
dilligently here for his fight on July
Fourth with I$ob Roper at the Om
aha auditorium.
Johnny Lee, Billy Rolfe and Joe
Herrick have joined the Schmader
enturage down here and are making
Andy step in his training workouts.
Schmader's knockout punch was
in evidence the first day of the
sparring matches. He floored John
ny Lee with a left hook in the first
few minutes of their workout Mon
day and Johnny counted 1,000,000
stars before he came to.
Jack Lewis, Schmader's manager,
has instructed the navy champion's
trainers to concentrate on develop
ing Schmader's speed and long range
boxing. Lewis feels that Roper's
speed and boxing ability will put
Schmader up against the hardest
proposition he has yet confronted in
the ring.
Many Louisville fans are coming
to Omaha for the bout, and they
will bring good-sized bank rolls to
Omaha to wager on their neighbor.
