Omaha merchants and churns
were urged to buy more Omaha
made products by C E. Corey, presi
dent of the Omaha Manufacturerg'
association, in a speech delivererl
before the members of the Lions
club at the Rome hotel Tuesday
noon.
"Every Omaha merchant should
keep a stock of Omaha-made goods
on hand and those should be the

tomers," Mr. Corey said-
"Buying Omaha-made goods, by
Omaha merchants, and in turn sell
ing thrm to Omahans would do a lot
toward keeping the manufacturing
plants of Omaha busy the year
around. It would also furnish Omaha

infant's soul was but loose fixed
in the body which it had so recently
come to occupy. Also the general
helplessness of infants with respect
to physical things led to the conclu
sion that the young child was equal

Hastings Reduces Its
School Budget $27,000
Hastings, Neb., June 21. (Special
Telegram.) A reduction of $27,000
from this year's budget was effect
ed in the budget for next year
adopted by the board of education
Monday night The new budget
was fixed at $198,000, as against this
year's budget of $225,000. On the ba
sis of the old valuation, the school
levy was reduced by about 10 mills.
Principal R. W. Johnson of the
senior High school was elected to
serve as principal of the junior High
also. The salary of Mr. Johnson,
which had been fixed at $3,000 as
principal of the senior high, wai
raised to $3,500 in his new position.
Homer E. Bash, who was principal
of the junior High since it was or
ganized, resigned recently to accept
a similar position in Ardmore, Okl.
Wants Divorce Because
Wife Smokes Cigarets
Columbus, Neb., June 21. (Spe
cial.) Alleging that his wife smokes
cigarets and indulges in frequent ex
cessive use of intoxicating liquors,
Forrest A. Porter has applied to the
district court for a divorce from Effie
Porter. They; were married in Da
kota City, July 12, 1920. In addition
to the other habits of which he
complains, the plaintiff charges that'
his wife uses naughty language and
associates intimately with undesirable
companions. He says she has left
the state and he doej not know her
present whereabouts.
