this week for the Jewish .Welfare
federation's annual budget. ' Eight
hundred subscribers helped swell the

J. L. Brandcis & Sons head the
list with $3,000; Morris Levy gave
$2,000; William Holzman and Harry
A. Wolf, $1,000 each, and Morris
Milder; 'Jerome and Lester Hcyn,
Simon Brothers, Kirchbraim & Sons

Brandeis Capital Stock
Increased To $2,500,000
The first change of the capital
stock of the J. L. Brnadeis & Sons
company was announced yesterday,
the increase being' from $350,000 to
$ ',500,000, according to a statement
by George Brandeis. The stock

By Posse of Pupils.
George Wilkinson, 14, 2624 North
Nineteenth street, was caught yes
terday afternoon in the Holy Family
Catholic church school, Nineteenth
and Izard streets, by a posse of
boys who turned the juvenile fugi
tive over to police. Master Wilkin
son was charged with running down
Fannie Zidman, 10, 707 North Six
teenth street, while riding his bi
cycle in the Cass school yard.
Wilkinson rode into the school
yard and knocked down several boys
and girls, with his bicycle before lie
struck the Zidman girl, wo -is paF
alyzcd on one side and was unable
to escape the tmcoming bicycle, ac
cording to reports to police.
Miss Jessie Grant, - principal of
Cass school, af tirst tried to appre
hend Wilkinson, but when tier ef
forts failed, she summoned several
of her boy pupils, who mounted bi
cycles and gave chase. The boys
who joined in the pursut are Tom
Wells. Al Gray, Theodore Sterlng
and Tommy 'Thomas. The injuries
suffered, by the Zidman girl may
prove serious on acccfunt of ' her
condition: .

John Mihok, 1943 South Twentieth
street, owner of the Moson Tarsea
royal ruby, valued at. $50,000. has ex
changed "his precious jewel for a
section of land in Texas. John E.
DcBow, 522 Paxton flock, now owns
the ruby.
The "ruby originally came from
Moson Tarsea, Austria, and was
given to Mihok by his father, a for
mer soldier in the German . army.
The jewel weighs 23.9 carats. lis
