Oscar Fulir Sold to' Kansas City Blues' Former Omaha Hurler Fails! to Stick in "Big Show" After Pitching in Western. Kansas City, Mo., May 10. The Kansas City Base Ball club of the American association announced last night the purchase of Oscar Fuhr, left-handed pitcher, from the Chicago Nationals. Fuhr was with the Omaha West ern league team last year. Fuhr joined the Cubs before the 1920 season closed. He wa? a mem ber of the Ch'. ago National's spring training squad and during the early workouts appeared to be'goins good, according to reports received from the south. Several days a-o he started in the Cubs-Pirates game, and after hurl ing three innings the Pittsburgh players discovered Oscar's line and then started to jump on the iormer Omaha hurler. Louis Browns and Fuhr to the Cubs. Sunday ' the Cuban hurled the Browns to a 16 to 8 victory over De troit. He allowed the Tigers 13 hits. State Records Made At High School Meet Held at Kearney, Neb. Kearney, Neb., May 10. (Spe cial.) Three state records were smashed at the Eleventh district high school meet held in .Kearney and North Platte won the meet. Six class A schools were entered, while seven of the class B teams participated. Aurora, Broken Bow, Gothenburg. Grand Island, North Platte and Kearney composed the first teams, while Bcrwyn. Callaway, Elm Creek, K. M. A., Mason City, Poole atid the S. T. C. training school represented class B. A total of 44 students participated in the contests. In the 440-yard run Trexler of North Platte, made a record of 51 4-5, against the state record of 52 3-5; in the 880-yard run DcMaran villc, Aurora, made it in 2;02, the state record being 2:022-5. In the 880-yard relay the North Platte team set a new record for high schools in the state with a running time of 1:34 minutes. The standing in class A follows: North Platte, 31 3-4 points: Broken Bow, 23 3-4 points; Grand Island, 23 points: Gothenburg, 21 points; Aurora, 20 3-4 points; Kearney, 5 3-4 points. The entire meet, conducted under the auspices of the Kearney Teach ers' college was a success. Weather conditions were ideal and the track was in fine shape. The number of schools participating and those "at tending this annual meet is increas ing yearly and it is expected that next year will witness one of the best high track and field meets in the state.
