Sir Henry Dray ton, minister of finance, today told the House of Commons that Canada's unfavorable balance in trade with the United States was likely to con tinue. After stating the balance last year was $296,000,000 in favor of the United States, he said the Young bill, which had been favorably con sidered in congress, called, for im position of duties which virtually would prohibit importation of Ca nadian agricultural commodities. These commodities amounted to nearly $178,000,000 last year, he said. Speaking on the budget. Sir Henry said Canada's trade showing last year was remarkable. Notwith standing declining prices, imports and domestic exports totalled $2, 429,000,000, a gain of $125,000,000 over the previous year. Predicting a decrease( in customs revenue this year, ho said the policy of the government would be to pay all current expenses, including cap ital charges, out of current income.
