The government requires $200,000,

It is declared the minister of fi

ting down of the salaries of govern
ment employes. This action has
aroused the justices of the supreme
court and the heads of othed courts
throughout China and they are
threatening to strike if their salaries
are cut further.
In the meantime the federal war
lords of the country and the pro
vincial and military governors are
building up bigger armies for the
rumored conflicts next month and
are pressing the government for
greater allowances.
