Women Admit
They Are
Menace
The League of Women Voters, at
tacked at Albany by Governor Miller
as a "menace" agrees that' the gov
ernor was correct in his estimate, but
places a different interpretation upon
the meaning of the term. The stand
of the league is that it is a menace
to the following:
"The gospel of my party, right or
wrong.
The mandate, close your eyes ana
follow your leader.'
"The tradition, 'lives are cheap and
dollars are precious.'
"The oolicv. 'pliable candidates are
better than able ones.'
"The dictum, 'a straight ticket
rather than the best one.' .
"The scheme, 'keep the voter
ignorant or biased.'
"Ihe motto, measure ail tmng3
by the business ruler.' i
"The idea of 'politics as a -game to !
be played.
The assumption, men are leaders
and women followers.'
"The belief that public officials are
the rulers, not the servants of the
people and that invisible government
by big interests is justifiable.
"To outworn creeds and methods.
"To exploitation of women and
children in industrv." Brooklyn (N.
Y.) Eagle.

Nebraska Women's Club Song.
Out to the Western Desert came
the Pioneers so true.
Came with hope and courage, to
build homes for me and yu;
Came with seeds of culture from as
far East as "ThcHub,"
Sowed them on the prairie sod to
blossom in this Club.
CHORUS.
We all love thee, dear Nebraska, for
thy sand hills and plains,
We all love thee, dear Nebraska, for
thy sunshine after rains:
From the sod house on the prairie.
from the mansion in the town,
Every voice shall sing thy praises
and spread thy renown.
Tho' Nebraska sun is bright, her
women also shine;
Any cause that they espouse will
never more decline.
So acclaim Nebraska fair, her fields
I all gold and green,
HgT children, wives and husbands,
too, the bravest ever seen.
Tune: "Tipperary." Words by
Mrs. George G. Waite of Lincoln.
Women have been granted full
suffrage rights in the little Mo

one of the newly created dominions,
