THE BEE: -OMAHA. SUNDAY, MARCH 27, 1021. 5 D March 27 THE ELI nj 11 April 2nd How do you know it will be a ood show? THE test of a good show is simply this: did you go home feeling that your money had purchased you a great time? But that's a hindsight test. . Why not use a foresight test, too, and pick a great photoplay every time? Know before you go! - For years past there has been in the motion picture industry one tremendous organization which surpasses all others in the size of its operations and the quality of its pictures. This is the organization that makes Paramount Pictures. Paramount represents the highest art in motion pictures When you notice that your theatre is announcing a Paramount Picture you may know that that picture meas ures up to the highest traditions of screen art, that it is the product of those men and women who have done most to raise the screen from where it was in 1910 to where it is in 1921. You will know that all the money, art and conscience necessary to make it perfect have been used. Paramount inaugurated the idea of having the most famous authors of Europe and America work right with the motion picture directors in the studios to ensure best results: for example, Sir Gilbert Parker with George Melford, Edward Knoblock with William de Mille and Elinor Glyn with the star, Gloria Swanson. Paramount Pictures have a wonderful realism. If the story calls for a shipwreck a ship is taken out to sea and wrecked, with the camera men hard by in another vessel in great danger. If the story calls for snow scenes, and the time when the picture is being made happens to be summer, the whole company is taken way up into the mountains amid the snowy peaks. If the scenario calls for a cabaret life you see the girls and the costumes from the leading midnight shows of New York. If prison scenes are needed the grim realism of Sing Sing will be seen by you on the film, or some other genuine home of correction. When you see a Paramount Picture you are immediately lifted out of the realm of mere "movies" into the realm of the great applied art of the modern motion picture. And there is all the difference in the world as much difference as there is between Metropolitan Opera and a makeshift amateur concert. ' The best theatres in every town show Paramount Pictures The theatre that is showing a Paramount Picture is by virtue of that fact as good as the greatest theatre in America, since no theatre can be better than the pictures it shows.
