Farmers Complain of
Low Price for Eggs
F. W. Schwanke of Howclls wa
a visitor at the stock yards yester
day with a consignment of 54 head
of hogs, averaging 338 pounds, which
were sold to a local packer for $'J
a hundred.
Mr, Schwanke said he had no
kick on the price received for hogs,
but asserted there was much ob
jection in his neighborhood against
the price paid, for eggs. He said
eggs were selling for , 20 cents a
dozen and the farmer had to take
the price out in trade, while the re
tail price was .2 cents a dozen.

Woman Asks $23,000 Damage
For Alleged False Arrest
'York, Neb., March 18. Mrs. Fran
ces Holoubek filed suit in district
court here asking $25,000 from Wade
H. Read for "relief from mental and
bodily suffering occasioned by being
arrested and detained in the county
jail without just cause," in connec
tion with the arrest of her husband,
John, now serving a sentence in the
Nebraska penitentiary for clothing
robberies.
