'ot Well Off. K Dear Miss Fairfax: 1 have rend your good adviees to others si am also coming- to you for some as I know you can help me as you have done many Olivers. Now this is what would like to !noyr: I am a girl of 18 Rummers nnd hae gone with sev eral young men. But am going with one steady now but do not like to ask him over as we are not very well off. so have not a very nice house. And this young man's folks' are well off nnd have a nice house. llo you think thev care how the j house is furnished as long as every thing is always nice and clean? Hoping- you can give nip some advice, will close as ever, your friend, HUTE EYKS. on are lvullv lucky to bavo such a good way of finding out whether the young man really amounts to anything or not. A boy who would not rare for you because your hme is not furnished as nicely as his own, is not worthy a tine girl. If he sin cerely likes yon, the furnishings of your home ought to make no dif ference. You say the house 1 al ways clean. That is of far more consequence than whether the fur niture Is of oak or mahogany." 1 note something in your letter which worrit me far more than tha financial condition of your family. You say "I have went." Now that is bad grammar. Study and read and develop your character. Don't wor ry about the hoys. In time you will become attractive to the very best of them, if you make yourself noble and worthy. What to Say. bear Miss Fairfax: What is the proper thing to say when a person tells you they are glad they made your acquaintance? - Y'ours trulv, BROWN EYES. .Sny what you jean sincerely say. Say "Thank you," or "And I am very glad to know you." Any polite reply which is simple and sincere will he correct under these circumstances. It makes a good4 cover and requires no tacking. Turkish towels are better if , not ironed. Shake out well and fold them drv. A pocket of oilcloth tacked on the j outside of the refrigerator will hold I the ice pick. Bread crumbs soon become rancid when they are covered tightly.
