This is the first time that the
public has been invited to attend a
gathering of medical men in the
city of Omaha. Similar public
meetings in other cities have been
attended with great success, accord
ing to Mr. Allen.
The following clubs will under
take active campaigns to acquaint
the public with the urgency of at
tending these meetings for the pre
vention of cancer: The Chamber of
Commerce, Rotary c:ul Concord
club, Lions club, Kiwanis, Jewish
Women's club, Christy Child society,
Women's Circle, Dundee Women's
Circle and Y. W. C. A.

The first meeting of the Mid-West
Cement Users association since the
war starts at the Hotel Rome and
the Municipal auditorium today with
promise that the building problem
in all its phases will receive a
thorough airing. Remedies for the
national house shortage, for high
material prices and for the existing
labor conditions arc. due for thcir
turn in conference.
Mayor Smith will open the con
vention with an address. A dem
onstration and general building dis
cussion will take place at the audi
torium, where illustrated lectures'
will 1 part of the program.
A building team, picked by the
Portland Cement association, "will
construct part of ,a cement house
a.a.v.iwa.
Wednesday evening and will go into
minute detail concerning matters ot
interest to prospective home build
ers. The team consists of A. J. Cur
tis. W. D. Allan and J. A Dunn of
Chicago, and D. R. Doulcn.- Omaha
representative of the association.
