Batteries Must Be Given as Much Care As Tires, Says Dealer "Batteries, like tires, wear out," says Elmer Rosengren of the Ne braska Storage Battery company. "Keep this fact in mind, so that when after months of steadfast service and perhaps scanty care your bat tery quits cold, you will not feel hurt because it must be renewed. -. "Like tires, batteries must be cared for. . "A tire that is kept fully inflated lasts much longer than a half-inflated tire, i "A battery that is kept fully charged and filled with distilled water lasts much longer than one which is constantly half-charged and given water at infrequent intervals. .. "A half-inflated tire rim-cuts and soon blows out The insulation in a constantly half-charged battery breaks down' and the battery is ruined perhaps. A novel use for a bowl of gold fish has been found out in South Dakota. It's getting to be ttte cus tom there to test the easy riding qualities of a car. by placing a bowl of goldfish ih the tonneau. If any of the water is splashed out or the fish are greatly disturbed, the car is relegated to the N. G. class. The true "sky pilot" has now ar rived! "Ner York state now has a "healthmobile." It' a large motor truck fitted ud like a doctor's office and is used in an intensive child welfare campaign in the rural dis tricts. It carries a moving picture machine and screen for displaying "health" movies. Use of the healthmobile proved so successful this year that New York health au thorities are now considering using a fleet of them next year. " Ain't it .a shame! New York City went and appropriated s well nigh $3,000,000 to keep its streets, clean of snow -this winter, bought hundreds of snow plows and tra tors, ana - organizea snow-ngmmg forces, and now doggone it there isn't any snow to fight. Th winter Ralph Mulford. Ralph Mulford, one of the senior kings of the speedway, will be in Omaha all next week with the two Faige cars which were his mounts while establishing two records within the last six months. France now lays claim to the honor of having the "most-miles-per-gallon-of-gas car in the world. In a recent fuel economy test, a four-cylinder two-seater Peugeot Quadrilette made 76.1 miles on one gallon of gasoline. Inasmuch as gasoline now costs $2.10 a gallon in France, it is evident that the car which uses least fuel will be the most popular. Here's another indication of the motor truck's rising dominance over th horse and wagon.
