' it I T i THE BEE: OMAHA, FRIDAY, JANUARY 21. 1921. Omaha Area M. E. Church Second in Centenary Fund Nebraska-Iowa District Pays $2,761,413 in 18' Months, Which Is 92x3 Per Cent Of Its Quota. A bulletin was issued yesterday from the Omaha are office of the Kfethodist church, 320 City National oank building, showing the standing of its churches in the state of Ne braska and Iowa and the amount of money the congregations have paid on the centenary subscriptions taken 18 months ago. "Omaha area," said Dr. Clyde C Cissell. executive secretary, has paid $2,761,413 in the last one and a half years to the centenary trea sury in Chicago. This is 92.3 per cent of the quota and subscription due from our churches in this period of time. The Omaha area ranks sec ond in total payments made among the 21 areas of the church, with an average per capita payment to Janu ary l, lV.il, of ?9.V4." According to the bulletin, Omaha outranks sqch metropolitan districts as New York, Philadelphia, Pitts burgh, Chicago and Baltimore. The total annual centenary quota for a five year period for Iowa and Nebraska' is $1,932,968 and on this quota $1,757,(393 subscribed by the congregations of the two states. The area bulletin shows that in the year, 1920 the Methodist churches in Iowa and Nebraska had a net Kain 'Of 10.250 members and conver sions reaching well over 20,000. In net gain! in membership the Omaha section ranks fifth among the areas of Methodism. ' Jobbing Center Flour Mills Protest Rail Rate Lincoln, Neb., Jan. 20. (Special.) Alleging that Nebraska rates ou less than carload ( flour shipments from jobbing centers are greater Jlian the rates from non-jobbing centers to the same destinaiion, the Nebraska ' Consolidated Mills of Grand Island have filed a formal complaint with the Nebraska rail way commission asking that the dis crimination be removed. The complaints recite that of 191 mills in Nebraska, with a daily ca pacity of 26,211 barrels, 172 with a 17,526-barrcl capacity are non-jobbing points and have a freight rate advantage. PHOTOPLAY". On their arrival in Omaha they will be entertained by the Omaha wholesale fruit dealers , with an automobile ride about the city and tea at the Hotel Fontenelle. The Omaha and Council Bluffs del egations, including Robert Trimble of Trimble Bros., and J. C Moise of the Fruit Dispatch, will join the party and make the remainder of the trip t(o Colorado Springs. Lincoln Electricians Quit When Wages Are Cut Lincoln, Neb., Jan. 20. (Special.) Refusing to accept a wage cut of from $1.12j4 an hour to $1 an hour, 25 members of the Electrical Work ers' union of Lincoln were idle to day. Contractors notified the work ;ers thatjthe cut would be made Jan uary 19sthe secretary"vof the' union; said, but the men protested on the ground that living costs had not dropped sufficiently.
