past week or 10 days, which is one
of the most encouraging features of
the live stock situation so far tlm
year," said Gene Mclady, ' commis
sion man. at the stock yards, Thurs
day. "I expect things to improve in the
stoeker trade very soon," continued
Mr. Melady. "Our business has
shown a decrease during the past
few months, mainly on account of
the tightness of money, but there
are bright indications to a rapid re
turn to normal condition.. A large
number of our regular customers
who have wanted stockers for feed
ing have had empty feed lots, which
I suppose was due to their inability
to get financial aid. I expect these
people to be in the market for large
orders for Wtockers and feeders and
we have had a large number of in
quiries as to the availability of get
ting stock.
Financial Condition Better.
"We are receiving a large number
of letters intimating that the writers'

to place feeding loans and that
money is becoming easier to borrow

section. There is a general move
ment of farm products and bankers
have shown a willingness to make
loans. As a result of our experience
during the past few years I am of
the opinion the average farmer will
take advantage of the knowledge
gained and' pay more attention to
figuring his cost of production and
try to decrease his overhead ex
penses rather than to attempt to
force the consumer to pay for mis
takes of the farmer." -
