TheBurgess-Nash Co. believes that the year 1921 holds wonderful possibilities for us all.
Pessimists would have us believe that, merely because a decline in prices iwnicn we aii ex
, pected) has come, that our prosperity has "gone to the dogs." We disagree most vigorously.
The truth of the matter, as we see it, is that we have all enjoyed such
an unparalleled prosperity the last few years, thatwe are mistaking the
return to normal conditions for something more serious', Let us shake
the webs from our eyes and see clearly. All of us the producer, the
manufacturer, the wholesaler, the retailer and 4he wage earner must pay
for our "prosperity joy-ride." The sooner we pay, the better for us all.

Your Opportunity to Save More Money on the Necessities of Life Than
You Have Been Able to do tor Years
The Plain Why and Where
fore of This Sale
During the holiday rush we occupied a portion of
our new store building over the protests of the con
tractors, whose work was delayed by our action. Now
we must vacate the space thus temporarily ;used, and
allow the building to be completed. This means we
must contract our stocks until they can again be housed
in our present quarters and also make room for new
spring goods soon to arrive.
When we finally occupy the new storejbuilding (in
addition to our present accommodations) we expect
to have iri stock only new, fresh merchandise not a
dollars worth of fall or winter goods will be left if we
can prevent. This means disposing of a large amount
of-fall and winter merchandise in a short time; andve
have made prices, in some cases even below manufac
turing costs, to accomplish this end. - - 4tf
We do not pretend to be able to sell goods at cost,
or less for any length of time. No business institution
can ljve without making a fair profit. And we frankly
confess we are in business to make a fair profit. We 7
are, however, willing to take our share of the losses?
quickly, and cheerfully, and start business in the.new
store with fresh, clean stocks the most reasonable in
price, and the utmost in dependability.
We believe this is an opportunity
to buy dependably merchandise at
prices which are the lowest that
have been offered anywhere for
ydars. ' ,
Prices which you will find here Monday, may seem
to be unreasonably even impossibly low. Yet we
have no intention of being either sensational or extrav
agant in our presentation of our merchandise bargains.
