High Court of Kansas
v Dismisses Appeal In
Wealthy Indian Case
- Topeka, Kan., Dec. 9. The suit
Barnett, aged millionaire Indian,
sought custody of his ward and his
separation from his bride,, was dis
missed by the Kansas supreme court
yesterday. The action was dismissed
after Carl J. O'Hornett of Henry
etta. Old., the guardian, had paid the
costs in the case amounting to $1,200.
An agreement was reached sev
eral moifths ago by O'Hornett and
Mrs. Barnett. by which Mrs. Barnett
agreed to go back to Oklahoma
with her husband and the guardian
agreed not to interfere with their
married life. ''
Mrs. Barnett, then known as Mrs.
Anna Laura Lowe, and Barnett were
ruary 24, 1920, and remained there
for two weeks. The guardian claimed
that the woman had kidnaped his
ward and was holding him prisoner.

lican successor should he resign
from the senate sooner than he had
planned. He tried again to get into
communication with Senator-elect
Frank B. Willis, who would be given
the appointment and to ascertain his
desires before replying to Governor
Cox's letter.

offered by the government of New
Zealand for the discovery of new
deposits of marketable phosphates
and guano.
