Night No Flashlight What's What By HELEN DECIE Schoolboys and ' sophomores who strive to turn every clay of the year -into April Fool's day revel in the sort of horseplay called nobody knows why the practical joke which is never practical and seldom a joke. The custom of hazing fresh men originated in some supposedly "harmless" foolery, yet it degener ated into prankishness so brutal that its victims sometimes suffered seri ous injuries. It was only when death after death resulted from hazing that the authorities put a stop to this vicious ftrrm of practical joking. Disregard of the most sacred feel ing of others leads some alleged hu morists to thrust undesirable noto riety upon friends who have a right to every courtesy from them. An all-too-frequent example of hoodlum manners is the decorating of a bridal carriage with all sorts of cheap witted labels. To be successful a practical joke must hurt somebody, mentally or physically. It must have point a poisoned point. At its best it is but coarse mis chief; at its worst the practical joke is practical malice. He seems dangerous to a girl of your youth. I think you'd be wise to avoid him. Nap Schedule. When the baby is a few" months old he will need a forenoon nap after he is bathed and fed, and also an afternoon nap. By the time he is a year old he will usually need only the forenoon nap, which should be continued until he is at least two or three years old. Unless the weather is severe the baby may have his nap out of doors in a sheltered place.
