The state bureau bf ' fish and game, operating under the .Department" of , Agriculture, is facing a serious prob lem in the way of conservation of severaf carloads of fish, which, through overflow during the, sum mer have been deposited in 'small lakes near Peru, which are now go . ng Jry and the, fish, unless taken care of. will die. ... The department has no money to meet the situation, but if anv town will pay he expense of transporting the car, the department will seine the lakes and load, the car free of charge. The city 6t ' Fremont re cently took a car of these fish which were planted in the sand pit fakes near that city. Secretary Stuhr of '.he department. Game Warden Kos tcr and Fish Commissioner O'Brien ire anxious to save these fish, which are mostly bullheads, croppies and sun fish, running in length from an Inch and a half to six inches. Washington, Nov. 26. If congress at the coming session, is unable to enact legislation to restrict immi gration", it probably will be urged by the house immigration commit tee to bar all aliens from the United Stajes temporarily, Representative Johnson of Washington, chairman of the committee said. ' r ' , Union Pacific Asks Change In Right-of-way Ground Kent Lincoln, Nov. 26.--(Spcial). The Union Pacific Railway com pany is before the State Railway commission in an effort to secure a new rule regarding rental of right-of-way grounds for elevators , and other kinds of business. The com pany desires that the commission shall permit them to charge rental corresponding to the value of the property placed on the right-of-way. Extension Bureau Wants More Funds to Carry oh Its Work Lincoln, Now.-i 21 (Special.) Chancellor: Avery of the state . uni versity aind Dean Burnett of the agri cultural farm have' liad a cofcrente,; with the governor regarding: his ask ing the legislature to give the fartn bureau extension ' department an in creased appropriation amounting to about $200,000 for the coming two years. '- "-fr ' '' -The money to carry' otr the" farm bureau work fn the past has-come from three sources!. First, under the Smith-Leaver act the government has set aside ascertain sum which is dis tributed to-the .different states. Sec ond, the state""make5 an appropria tion equal in amount to that given by the government and third, the coun ties make additional provision for the work. ' . , ''.... ". The work is carried on under di rection of thMarm bureaji extension department of the state university and has extended so-far that the present appropriations are in adequate to carry it on extensively. According to the governor the work of the bureau is going to be a big factor in aiding the farmers in solv ing the problems which they will have to face in the future and. the establishment of demonstrators in each county will result in special benefits.
