Chautauqua Notes.
Members of the Tennyson Chau
tauqua circle are working hard for
credits, according to Mrs. W. B.
Howard, in charge of chautauqua
woak in the city. The circle ha'
been divided into two sec-t-ons,
one captained by Mrs. J. H.
Osborne, md the other by Mrs. P. J.
Haas. The section winning the most
credits will be entertained by the
losers at the end of the year.
The Tennyson circle will meet
Monday afternoon, 2 p. m., at the
lome of Mrs. C. H. Walrath, 36S0
Burt street. The lesson will be,
"The New Italy," part 2, chapters
4-7. Leaders, Mrs. E. Benedict and
Mrs. J. H. Osborne.
Omaha Walking Club.
Members of the Omaha Walking
flab will meet at the entrance of th-:

ence Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock
This gate is about one block east of
r the north end of the Florence car
line.
The walk will proceed a short dis
tance up the river road, then turn
on the Ponca Creek road, following
this a short distance, at which the
road will be abandoned for a series
of paths and trails through the
woods north and northwest of Flor
ence. On the return trip the club will
enter Florence from the northwest,
coming to the car line through the

The annual membership drive for
the support of the Old People's home
is now being conducted bv the board
of trustees, announces Mrs. Isaac
Douglas. The associate member
ships are $1. sustaining member
ships $5 and life memberships $100.
Eight thousand dollars is needed to
meet the expenses for the coming
-year.

Regular meeting of the Catholic
Women's Research club will be held

mans academy, at 3:30 p. m. The
