Consump tion of petroleum reach the high record figure of 48,670,000 barrels in September, while production de creased slightly, the geological sur vev reported today in its monthly statement The average daily pro duction was placed at 1,261,500 bar rels, as compared with 1,270,870 bar rels in August. California, in September, attairiW the record daily production of 304, 267 barrels, surplantine Oklahoma as first in rank. Montana also went ahea'd of Colorado. . The deficiency in domestic pro duction, the survey stated,, was off set by net imports of 10,914,000 bar rels, the largest ever rxfior'ded in a single month. Decreased production ws ascribed by the survey o lessened, returns from central and north Texas and north Louisiana. Body of Corporal Brought to Omaha The body of Corporal Guy Elder, son of Mrs. Atta Gardner, 3509 North Twenty-ninth street, 'who served overseas" with Battery E, 335th field artillery, U. S.
