Home for Girls, Rev. E. H. Jenks officiating. Thrre were no attend ants. The bride wore a suit of brown duvetyn, with hat to match, and a corsage bouquet of roses. Mrs. J. D. Linder of Red Oak, mother of the bride, was present at the ceremony. .The couple will be at home with the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Taylor. . On Friday morning the bride was honor guest at a miscellaneous shower, followed by breakfast, given by girls of the Y, W. C. A. home. The girls were suspended from a huge Japanese parasol benath which were a miniature bride and groom. She was also presented with a bouquet of bride's roses. - Wedding. Crawford Farker left Friday eve ning for Des Moines, la., where his marriage to Miss Feye Miller took place Saturday. t He will return to -Omaha with his b ide in a few days. They will be hrime after Oc , tober 15 at Bostwick apartments. Miss Miller was recently engaged in newspaper work on a local paper. McGorrisk-Sass. Mr. and Mrs. N. P. Sass announce the marriage of thrjr daughter, Dorothea, and Daniel H. McGorrisk, son of Mr. and Mrs. VV. B. Mc- '.Gorrisk of this city, formerly of jcs Moines. The ceremony was wrformed Saturday morning at the parsqnage of St. Mary Magdelenes church by the Rev. B. Sinne. There were no attendants and only the im mediate families were present. The bride wore a suit of Copenhagen blue trimmed with fox fur and hat to match and her corsage was of loses. The couple will take a short trip and will be at home after October 25 at 5114 Hamilton street. Whitehead-Holman. The marriage of Miss Frdnces Elizabeth Holman, sister of Roger P. Holman, and Lewis Miller White v -head of Council Bluffs, took place Saturday afternoon at the Holman residence, Rev. Wilford E. Mann of Council Bluffs officiating. Preced ing the ceremony Mrs; X. W. Kynett sang. . The maid of honor, Miss Mar farie Sime of St. Paul, Minn., wore a becoming afternoon gown of brown satin with hat to match and carried a bouquet of Ward roses and orchids. The bride wore her traveling suit of dark blue duvrtyc with hat to match and carried bride's, roses and oSrChids. She wore the gift of the groom, a diamond and platinum pin. Frank Webster acted as best man. Mr. and Mrs. Whitehead have ' gone to California and will be at home after November 15 at Drake Court , Wedding Date. Miss Helen Curtis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Curtis, has chosen October 23 for the date of her marriage to Kenneth Snyder, &ns of S. G. Snyder of Council Bluffs. (The wedding will take place at the Curtis home and will, be a very quiet affair. Miss Louise Cur tis, sister of the bride-to-be, will be the only attendant Miss Velista Presson and Hiss Mary Johnston entertained Friday evening at the home of .the former for this bride-elect. Mrs. Daniel Gruenig was hostess at a bridge party and shower at her home, Sat urday, for Miss Curtis, and a bridge party will be given Saturday, Octob er 9, by Misses Clarisse Brown and Ethelwyn Hart for Miss Curtis. i Mart:n-Gray. He enlisted in the signal service of the aviation during th war and served for a year in France with Aero squadron No. 227. "The ambassador remained in this country, spending a short vaca tion in the north, and making several short visits for the week-ends. The Minister from Portugal, Vis count l'Alte, has returned from his home in Portugal, where he spent the summer. The viscount is dean of the ministers, and is in fact the leng est in service in the corps, having come here in 1902. The minister from Switzerland and Madame Peter were to have sailed today, but the steamer will not sail until later in the month. - Mrs. Craven, wife of Lieut. Col. Craven, is spending the fall in Wash ington and will join Col. Craven at his new post. Fort Crook, Neb., in Mrs. Obendorfer To Give Lecture, Recital A lecture recital will be given by Mrs Max Obendorfer of Chicago at the Y. W. C. A. auditorium Wednes day afternoon, October 27, at 3:i0 o'clock urder the joint auspices of the Tuesday Musical society and the Omaha Woman's club. Mrs. Obendorfer is chairman of music for the General Federation of Women's Clubs and was one of the spt-akers at the biennial convention in Des Moines last June. . She will also speak on "American ism Through Music" at the Thurs day evering session of the state meeting of federated clubs to be held in Fremont October 26-28. Mrs. Obendorfer passed through Omaha Thursday enroute to Wyo ming, Colorado, Nevada, Oklahoma and Missouri. At Sedalia, Mo., she wil1 spi"ak before the Woman's cluh as a memorial to the late Mrs. Wil liam Steele of that city, former gen eral fedetation chairman of music.
