A -campaign against pic and cake will "be carried into the public schools during the school year which begins next month. This has nothing to do with the high cost of living, but will be in connection with a nutrition program which will be promoted by the medical department of the schools. Miss Charlotte Townsend. super visor ot the medical inspection de partment in the schools, will direct the attack against pie and cake, which she insists should not be in cluded in the dietary regimen of boys and girls. She will endeavor to convince the kiddies that pie and cake are not good for their tummies. Fried foods also will be placed on the black list. The school medical department has received, 30 posters which will be shown in series to the children during the school year. "Children should eat regularly, not between meals," is one of the ad monitions. Also: "The child who is allowed to cat whatever he likes, whenever he likes, and as much as he likes, is forming a weak character as well as a weak body."
