They wefe ac cepted as the best of WO plans submitted to the state capitol board, which was headed by Thomas R. Kim bIl of Omaha. . A collection of 100 drawings submitted is fceing brought here from Lincoln by the Nebraska chapter of the American Institute of Architects and will be placed on exhibit at the public library beginning August 1. Ot the five plans here shown, three have the cus tomary dome and are in direct contrast o the plan ac cepted. The other two, like the accepted plan, are in dividual in idea. -.- The accepted plan provides for a. high tower in stead of a dome. Architects say, the tower is superior to the dome because it is cheaper to construct, and may be used for storage and library space. Criticism of the plan is based largely on the ab sence of a dome. No capitol building is quite complete without a dowie, say the critics. Defenders of the plan assert the dome is only suited to hilly or mountainous country. Government Agents Round Up Makers OF Spurious Notes Washington, D. " C, July t 31. Many arrests of counterfeiters have been made by the Secret Service bu reau recently, according to Chief W. H. Moran.. Groups making spurious currency were taken into custody at" Detroit, New York, Bridgeport, Conn., Low ell, Mass., and Scranton, Pa., it wis stated. They were making bills of $5, $10 and $20 denominations, and those working at Lowelland Scran ton were also mj.kinz i50 federal notes. A man arrested in Pitts burgh is suspected of having made and circulated a considerable num ber of $100 notes. . " A peculiar case developed in Chi cago, where a man bathing at a Lake Michigan beach felt something sharp strike his toe. . Upon exami nation it proved to be a plate for counterfeiting $20 bills. WithS this plate as a clue secret service ajjr abrs subsequently discovered and arrested three men who for months had' been experimenting with coun terfeits and who had just completed an excellent, plate for making $20 notes. Frau Bella Hartmann", the young and 'i pretty war widow of an American officer, who robbed the former and present governments of Vienna and Berlin cf enormous sums, stated to amount to $3,150,000, has ben sentenced at Lidau. Bavaria, to pay a fine of 50,000 marks (nominally $12,500) and to one month's imprisonment. She offered to pay a tenfold fine if her sentence of imprisonment was remitted, but the offer was refused. Frau Hartmann was given the name of "Queen of the Smugglers," owing to her clever and complex system. She employed a small army of peo ple round Lake Constance and was always loyal to them, paying their fines, amounting to thousands of dollars, when her . employes, of both sexes, were arested.
