OFF MONDAY ON
TOUR QFJSTATE
Movies to Be Used in Educa
tional Campaign on "Back
to Farm" Movement.
Visit 48 Towns.
Escorted by a uniformed band,
complete motion picture outfit, lec
turers and a tark truck filled with
oil. a score of automobile trucks
will leave Omaha Monday for a tour
of southwestern Nebraska in the in
terests of the "Back to the Farm"
movement.
The tour will be made under the
auspices of the Omaha Motor Truck
Tour association. The itinerary,
decided upon at a meeting Wednes
day night, will include 43 towns,
with over-night stops at Nebraska
City, Falls City, Beatrice, York,
David City and Valparaiso.

W. W. Short is the train com
mander. O. A. Wilson, G. A. Wil
cox, J. M. Oppcr, E. C. Haynes,
Arthur Cullen and F. O. Bury com
prise the committee in charge.
Use of the truck on the farm will
be demonstrated at each stop by
trucks of the train and motion pic
tures, illustrated with lectures by
B. C. Baker, farm educational lec
turer. The pictures will be pro
jected on an outdoor screen by Del
co light apparatus. The oil tank
will be provided by the Noufse Oil
company.
Army Truck in Line.
Besides one United States army
truck, the following makes of auto
mobile trucks will be represented
in the train: Douglas, All Ameri
can, Chevrolet, Commerce, Pack
ard, Master, Republic, Reo, Olds,
Nash and Autocar.
O. A. Wilson, chairman of the
committee in charge, declares no
sales talks will be made on the trip,
which is to be thoroughly educa
tional in natute.

Separated Since Birth,
Two Sisters Hold
Happy Reunion Here
Separated since birth before they
had ever seen each other, two little
sisters, Bernice Aylsworth, 11 year$
old, and Dorothy Bloom, 10 year$
old, met for the first time Sunday
at the home of Bernice's adopted
cousin, Mrs. Joe Maguire, 3077
South Sixteenth street.
When Dorothy was born, Bernice
had already been adopted by Mr.
and Mrs. C. C. Aylesworth and
taken to their home in Colorado,
and 11 days later Dorothy was
adopted by Mrs. Amy Bloom and
'.aken to live in New York.
Each knew she had a sister some
where in the world, and somehow
Bernice heard her sister was in
Omaha. She induced her foster
parents to allow her to visit their
cousin, Mrs. Maguire, and finally
located Dorothy. In a few weeks,
separation must come when Ber
nice returns to her home in Colo
rado, but both children smile wist
fully as they tell each other how
glad they are to have been with
each other for even a short time,
and they have promised never to
lose track of each other again.
Car Men to Attend Wage
Hearing Only as Spectators
Unless the cost of living enter$
into the hearing of the wage con
troversy between the Omaha and
Council Bluffs Street Railway com
pany and the union, no active part
in the hearing will be taken by the
union, according to its president,
Ben Short.
Short and A. H. Bigelow, counsel,
will represent the union at the re
sumption of the hearing in Lincoln
Thursday, but will offer no witnesses
and take no part in the cross-examination.
The street car company will be
represented by W. G. Nicholson,
secretary and auditor.
Building Owners Suggest
Compromises in Rental Fight
The Tenants' Protective league
has been advised that the Building
Owners' and Managers' association
cannot undertake to dictate to its
members what rents they shall
charge, but that the association is in
terested in the rental situation, and
it believes any of its members are
willing to discuss with the tenants
any changes in rental schedules.
The association further states that
if the protective league succeeded in
its demands there would never be
another square foot of rental space
built in Omaha, causing a dearth of
houses and curtailment of the city's
growth.

Company Show Big Gain
The first semiannual directors
meeting of the National American
Fire Insurance company of Omaha
was held yesterday at the home of
fice of the company in the Harkor
block, and was followed hy a ban
quet at the Omaha Athletic club.
The company's semiannual state
ment showed its affairs in a flour
ishing condition, there being a ma
terial increase in the pnidup capital,
surplus and reserve. The company

a net surplus of $305,000, and ad
mitted assets of $1,236,861.01.
The company has written nearly a
quarter of a million dollars in pre
miums the first six months of this
year, and is now arranging to branch
out into other states, the reports
showed.
