Dayton, O., Julyx lO.Governor James M. Cox and Franklin D. Roosevelt, the democratic standard bearers, will have their first meeting since the San Francisco -convention, in the executive office at Columbus next Konday afternoon. The governor received a telegram from Mr. Roosevelt today stating he yill leave St. Louis tomorrow even ing: and will arrive in Columbus about noon Monday. He will go direct to the executive office at the capitol where the presidential nomi nee will be awaitiiift him. Governor Cox will motor to Co lumbus either Sunday evening or tarly Monday morning. Governor Cox will get first hand information on the San Francisco convention tomorrow from Judfre T. T. Ansbery of Washington, D. C, who was a delegate from the District of Columbia and one of the governor's leaders in the conven tion. He will "arrive tomorrow morning. Golf will claim the attention of the candidate this afternoon. He will play at the Dayton Country club course. His partners will be Fred Rike, Lee Warren James and I. G. Kumler, local friends of the , governor, i "Keep a level head,'' was the greeting sent by Harvey C. Garber, an Ohio democratic leader who for many years was the governor's bit ter political enemy. Garber wired from Denver. Governor Cox today corrected published statements that he is of ' 'English-German extraction. He stated that'his parents were of Eng .'lish and Scotch descent. Evidence Aqainst Tom Kelly Insufficient, Says Judge ; ; Judge Fitzgerald, after hearing the testimony in police court yester day in the preliminary hearing of 'Thomas Kelly and William Conley. "fecently arrested in Denver and , brought here to answer a charge of stealing an automobile from W. B. Veteran Appointed Bailiff In Estelle's Court Charles T. Smith was appointed yesterday to be bailiff of District Judge Estelle's court, succeeding the latt lolin H. Hulbcrt, who served for 20 vears. Mr. 'Smith, who lives at 1118 North Forty-sixth street, is an old soldier and commander of George Crook post, Grand Army of the Republic, of which post Judge Es telie is a member. The position pays $116 a month. HARDING TO MAKE VICE PRESIDENT CHIEF ADVISOR Declares Running Klate Will Participate in All Cabinet Meetings. Marion, O., July 10. J order to benefit by the judgment of his1 "chief partner," Senator Harding announced today that if he is elected president on the republican ticket the vice-president would be invited to participate ill all cabinet meetings. It is the' senator's view that this would bring about greater co-operation between the executive and leg islative departments. "Senator Harding believes," the statement said, "the country would greatly profit through this partici pation by the vice president in the cabinet conferences of the admin istration. It not only would elevate the office of the vice president, but would give the president the sound advice and able assistance of his chief partner in handling the na tation's affairs." Hays today gave out the following outlines of the speakers' bureau: "The speakers' bureau will be headed by United States Senator Harry S. New, Indiana, as chair man. Senator New directed the Roosevelt campaign of 1904 , from western headquarters. Associated with him in charge of the eastern division, with headquarters in New York, will be Congressman Thomas B. Miller of Delaware, eastern man ager for General Wood in the pre convention campaign. Congressman J. W. Good of Iowa, chairman of the appropriations committee of the house, will be in charge of the west ern division headquarters. Chicago. All these men will give all of their time to the work, with a full corps of assistants. "The speaking campaigns of the senatorial and congressional com mittees have been consolidated with the national committee's work and 1 there will be but one speakers' bu reau. "Apart from these national activi ties, Senator New will keep in close touch with the campaign in his own state. He is taking up this national work, not only because of his deep 'interest, but at the earnest personal request of Senator Harding and Chairman Hays." Give Farewell Dinner - A farewell dinner for J. Needed Another Girl In Order to Stage Party Albert Cady. 2916 Erskine street, and Le Roy "Spot" McKenna, 2215 Dodge street, needed another girl besides Ivon Nickerson, 2404 Cass street, to hold a party. So thev went to the home of Bertha Davis, 3901 North Fortieth street, whose mother refused to let her go, took the screen from the window and poured water on her to awake her. The foursome then went to Cady's home. They had breakfast downtown. Now the two girls are at River view home, where they will remain until next Saturday, when their case will be brought up again. County Attorney Shotwell has filed a complaint against McKenna for contributing to a junior delin quency. Cady, who has served 20 months in the state industrial school at Kearney, has been sent back.
