Four Are Held in Connection

i'. Officers wounded one man and
arrested three other in the railroad
yard at Twenty-ninth and H streets
early Thursday morning. The four
men are held for investigation in
connection with the robbery of u
1iox car and a hotdup at Pacific Junc
tion, la., Wednesday night, in 'which
the victim, a farmer, lost $1,800.
The wounded man was taken to St.
Jdseph hospital. His right leg was
badly shattered. Hospital attendants
ay they are unable to understand
The name he gives and he is booked
ns "John Doe." The other men gave
their names as Prank Johnson, Sioux
City; Thomas Coyle, Detroit, Mich.,
and Bert Farman, Chicago.
The arrests were made by three
railroad detectives. "Doe" was shot
when he attempted to run away, the
officers said. The name of the
farmer who claims to have lost the
jl.KK) is withhetd by the officers.
. South Side police say Coyle and
Farman answer descriptions given
by the victim of the two highway
men who robbed him. He is ex
pected in Omaha today to identify
his alleged assailants.
Chauffeur Faces Charge.
. Lawrence O'Neill, 4226 South
Twenty-third street, a chauffeur, is
charged with assault with intent to
rob, in a complaint filed in South
Side police court Thursday' by Mrs.
Iva' Roberts of the Drexel hotel, who
ctaims she swallowed a diamond
worth $475 when O'Neil attempted
to take it from her.
