As member institutions liquidated a large amouut of loans,' the fceral reserve banks' ratio of reserve to liabilities advanced nearly 2 ptr cent, compared with the preceding week, the rate being 42.5 per cent, against 40.6 per ceit. Members reduced re discounts of notes secured by gov ernment war bonds approximately $88,000,000 and cut down commercial paper rediscountssnearly $24,000,000.
