Silk and Lace Are
Effective
BT GERTRUDE BBRESFORD.
The fashion of combining beauti
ful lace with silks of different col
ors is very much in evidence. In
this dress a dark blue taffeta silk is
favored for the blouse and straight
panel that fronts the skirt. Beneath
the yoke of silk, flounces of lace are
cleverly attached. These are of a
rich, deep cream color, but a sparkle
of brightness is added by the threads
of silver with which they are em
broidered. Cloth of silver is also
used to outline the corsage and
short sleeves. The large hat of blue
straw shows a loose facing of cream
lace that really takes the place of a
veil.

Simple Home Remedy
for Wrinkled Faces
Thousands of the fair sex art pending
fortunes in frantic efforta to remove the
igna of premature age from their faces.
Such women willingly pay almost any
amount of money for worthless wrinkle
removers, of which there are many.
If they only knew it, the most effective
remedy imaginable is a simple, harmless
lotion which can be made up at home in
less than a minute. They have only to
get an ounee of pure powdered saxolite
and half a pint of witch hasel at the drug
store and mix the two. Apply this dally
for a while as a refreshing face wash.
The effect ia almost magical. Even after
the first treatment a marked improve.

TURN HAIR DARK
WITH SAGE TEA
If Mixed With Sulphur It
Darkens So Naturally
Nobody Can Tell.
The old-time mixture of Saw
Tea and Sulphur for darkening
gray, streaked and faded hair is
grandmother's recipe, and folks are
again using it to keep their hair a
good, even color, which is quite
sensible, as we are living in an age
when a youthful appearance is of
the greatest advantage.
Nowadays, though, we don t have
the troublesome task of gathering
the sage and the mussy mixing at
home. All drug stores sell the
ready-to-use product, improved by
the addition of other ingredients,
called "Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur
Compound." It is very popular be
cause nobody can discover ' it has
been applied. Simply moisten your
comb or a sott brush with it and
draw this through you hair, taking
one small strand at a time; by
morning the gray hair disappears,
but what delights the ladies with
Wyeth's Sage and Sulphur Com
pound is that, besides beautifully
darkening the hair after a few ap
plications, it also produces that soft
lustre and appearance of abundance
which is so attractive.
