JACK PRINCE TO
BUILD NEW AUTO
SPEEDWAY. HERE
Famous Builder to Try Second
" Venture In Omaha After
, Present Contracts Are
' Completed.
' Omaha is to have a new automo
bile speedway.
This was the news divulged
" Thursday by Jack Frince, famous
builder of automobile speedways,
who five years ago erected the Bast
Omaha . speedway, which proved a
failure. H
Trince' dropped into Omaha on
his way from Havana, Cuba, to San
Francisco. lie is going to start
erection of a speedway in Frisco
immediately. Next fall he goes to
Havana to build a saucer, and the
first of ftext year he plans to some
to Omaha to make his second ven
ture in this city.
Prince declares lie will profit so
by the lessons learned when he built
the East Omaha speedway in 1915
that the track he will build next year
will be an immediate success.
"In the first place, we will build
on high, ground," said Prince, "in
stead or lowlands,' wjiere a person
hesitated to go twice. We will make
this speedway out of good materials
and it will stand for years instead
of crumbling, as did the old one,
which was made out of scrap, owing
to lack of money in the speedway
compafiy."
Prince declares he already has
endugh Omaha money interested to
make the speedway a success, and
he will come' to Omaha to begin
construction work as soon as he fin
ishes the Frisco and Havana tracks
Will Be Wood Track.
The track will be a mile and a
quarter board track, capable of sus
taining 110 miles an hour.
Prince built the new Los Angeles
'the first race of the present season
last February. At the first race on
: this track 96,000 persons paid from
$J to $IU to see the stars of the
automobile racing world compete.
