    Banks Promise 5 Per Cent
Of Interchurch World Fund
Omaha banks have promised
irouch their clearing house to do
nate 5 per cent of all subscriptions

movement campaign, according to
an announcement made by David
Cole, chairman of the committee, at
its luncheon at the Masonic temple.
In the same breath, Mr. Cole
stated that total subscriptions to the
fund had already passed $400,000
and there was a twinkle in his eye
as he uttered this amendment.

Class Guests of Stockyards
To Study Beef Types
Of Cattle.
After spending the day as guests
of the management of the Stock
Yards company at a dinner in the
Exchange building1 and being enter
tained by superintendent of the var
ious packing plants Thursday, 60
students from the Nebraska univer
sity taking the freshmen course in
judging' and studying market types
of cattle returned to Lincoln last
night.
The party was in charge of Pro
fessors V. If. Slavin and V. J.
Loeffel, members of the animal hus
bandry faculty of the university.
They arrived at the yards in the
morning at 9 and devoted the day
to the study of the various types of
stock rather than to the top-notch-crs,
with a view of investigating the
practical and professional side of the
business rather than the ethical or
theoretical.
Part of the aftcrnoon'was spent in
inspecting the packing plants, where
they witnessed demonstrations of
meat cutting and other activities.

wife would not come to America

letter from his wife informed him
