Gives Out List of En "The Committee of SOO" has changed its name to "The Commit tee of 5.000," and has indorsed Adam McMullen of Beatrice, republican candidate for the gubernatorial nom ination. In a formal announcement signed by F. D. Wead, chairman of the executive committee; E. E. Thomas, executive secretary, and Mrs. C. J. Roberts, R. M. ' In connection with the indorse ments, the Committee of 500 offers the following statement.: ' "The 'committee of 500' has gy?mvn so large that the name has been changed to 'the committee of 5,000.' Our purposes ere still the same: Prohibition, woman's suffrage, law enforcement, good government and progressive legislation.' We recom mend candidates for offices which have to do with legislation and law enforcement and v?ho are favorable to our program. McKelvie Scores Omaha ; Politicians at Norfolk Norfolk, Neb., April 15. (Spe cial.) Governor McKelvie addressed an audience of 250 here tonight scor ing, Omaha republican politicians who" af reported to have combined against him. ' "When Omaha political, bosses begin to plot it is time for the friends of good government to ta"ke notice," said Governor McKelvie. "These men have not been able to run me, so they are against me. Their idea of party harmony ishat brand which permits' special privi leges and machine control." Hugh J. Boyle introduced the governor. Men Accused of Auto , Theft Put Under Bond Max Dennis, alias McNeely. of Falls City, Neb., and Harry Wil liams, alias Sherwood, 1403 South Sixteenth street, accused of stealing the automobile of Dr. E. F. Eades, 123 South Thirty-first street, last Saturday were held to the district court by Police Judge Foster yes terday under bond of $2,000. United States Senator Hiram WV Johnson of California, candidate for the' re publican presidential nomination, in an address here tonight, declared the league of nations was bound to be an issue in the coming campaign Senator Johnson spoke ill connec tion with his candidacy for endorse ment by Nebraska voters at the presidential preference primary, April 20. , , He declared it was "alj well enough for the politicians itt Wash ington" tjjT say that the league shall not become a political issne.'but that regardless of what they assert, the issue is here and will be with the American people until they decide it for themselves. ,v "Why should not the American people pass upon whether their re sources shall be taken in the future by foreign nations?" he asked. "Why should not the American peo ple decide whether the American youth shall police the world, or fight for boundary lines in Europe or in Asia?
