oppeitiiiY At NEBRASKA DOOR Opportunity to Make Her Own Great Son OHN PER SHING President of the United States J When America needed a commander of our forces overseas and John J. Pershing, of Nebraska, was called to command, every Nebraskan felt a thrill of state pride. And when General Pershing had discharged his trust with so great credit to himself and to Amer ica, every Nebraskan felt that, through him, added honor had come to this, his home state. Perhaps another could have done as well, but the fact remains that it was Pershing, the Ne braskan, who, as commander-in-chief, organized our brave overseas forces into a great aggressive fighting unit, directed their operations and achieved an unexpectedly early victory a victory that saved countless American lives and untold American treasure. All America is paying homage to Pershing, and everywhere he goes this distinguished Nebraskan is saying and doing the things that his countrymen would have him say and do. The country expects Nebraska, Pershing's home state, to name him to the national republican con vention as her candidate for the presidential nomi nation. Opportunity is knocking at Nebraska's door opportunity to honor her world-renowned son, and, through him, to honor herself opportunity to give to the country for its chief executive a man of high mind, of admirable character, of wide knowledge, of broad experience, of ardent patriotism, and of tested executive, adminstrative and diplomatic ability. Only three republican presidential candidates will be voted for at the Nebraska primary April 20th. General Pershing is one of the three whose names will appear on the ballot. Were General Pershing not qualified to dis charge the duties of president of the United States, it might with good reason be urged that he should not be supported by the republicans of his home state. r But General Pershing IS qualified to discharge the duties of president of the United States. He has amply demonstrated his fitness for the highest office in the gift of the people. And in view of ,this unquestioned fact all Nebraska republicans should put themselves whole-heartedly back of the movement to make him the nominee of his party for the presidency. They owe it to themselves, to their state, to their party, and to their country to VOTE FOR PERSHING April 20th DELEGATES AT LARGE Titus Lowe Charles H. Kelsey I Vote George H.
