Woman's Club of Alliance.
The, Woman's club of Alliance
has for the last two years supported
a Belgian mother and her two chil
dren. The father, a fisherman, was
impressed by the invading Germans
and forced to ply his trade for their
benefit. He was killed early in the
war. A number of interesting com
munications have been received from
the family. This costs the club
$109.50 per. annum, and the amount
is raised by special assessment.
For the coming year in addition
to the departments of literature,
home economic and music, the
study of citizenship will be taken up.
The meetings will be held in a
room recently fitted up in the city
library. It was through the efforts
of the Woman's club several years
ago that Alliance secured a public
library. .. ' -
