killed when his plane fell during an
observation flight near a gunnery
school at Bordeaux. His body- is
buried near Bordeaux in a cemetery
where nine other American aviators
also are interred.
Relatives state the body of Lieut.
Jarvis Offutt also will be returned to
the United States as soon as trench
regulations permit, His mother, Mrs.
Charles Offutt, and sister. Miss Vir

with Mr. and Mrs. Peterson, but
were informed the French govern
