both wrestlers, met in Omaha Mon
day and strolled from Hotel Fonte
nelle to Twenty-fourth street and
back for "a "good workout."
It was a tedious grind for the
heroes, of 1he mat. Bathed in
perspiration, they moved back into
the hotel, shed their clothes and
sprawled on one poor bed in
Stanislaus' room.
"We just had a fine workout,"
commented Stanislaus, the elder
brother to a reporter. "We walked
clear to Twenty-fourth street."
You d hardly call that a work
out, ventured Mr. Reporter. Why
didn t you walk to .Florence?
"Ah-h-h-h! Twenty-fourth street
is a long way oft when tie wind is
blowing," laughed the Polander.
March zephyrs were "wafting

mile rate Monday.
Stanislaus is touted by many
wrestling fans as the greatest man
in the game today. Monday night
he dumped Gus Kervaras, Greek
champion, twice in an hour and a
quarter in Council Bluffs.
Wladek is a mat artist of some
note, hut can't be compared with
his elder brother.
Wladek is 25 years old; Stanislaus,
39.
Wladek carries a cane, shaves
twice daily and wears silks, where
Stanislaus wears heavy woolens, or
dinary clothing and doesn't know
what a cane is for.
The parents of the Zzyszko broth
ers were not unusually large in
stature. The brothers attribute their
size and strength to living outdoors
a great deal.
Freshmen Girls Win.
Freshman girls' basket ball team
at Central High defeated the Sopho
more sextet, 7 to 5, Tuesday. Miss
Jurgenson, substituting for Fresh
man captain, Wycotf. starred for the
victors. Seniors will meet the Fresh
men Thursday for the school title.

won the Nebraska collegiate confer
ence championship last night at the
university gym by trouncing Doaue

Ernie Adams, student coach, was
the big man for Omaha.
Doanc started the scoring. Brown,
forward, hooped the sphere from the
middle of the floor and soon fol
lowed up with another basket. The
locals were up in the air, and unable
to pet started until Doane got well
in the lead. The first half ended
with Omaha in the lead 22 to 15.
Omaha came back with more con
fidence in the second period and
held Doanc scoreless until the last
five minutes of play. The locals
played a good defensive game, giv
ing the former champs very few
shots.
Beacom hit his stride towards the
last of the game, getting three
baskets in succession.
Stewards of Nebraska
Speed Circuit to Meet
In Omaha Next Friday
Stewards of the old reliable Ne
braska Speed circuit will hold their
annual meeting at the Faxton hotel
Friday evening of this week to map
out plans for the 1920 harness ra'
ing season. The probable lineup of
the circuit this year is Alliance, Sid
ney, Kearncv, Beatrice, Fremont
and West Point. K. D. Gould of
Kearney is president, O. M. bmith ,
of Omaha, vice president and N. J.
Ronin of Fremont, secretary am
treasurer. I
Officials of the circuit say tiiat
two or three more towns would he
a welcome addition to the layout
this year, and invite associations
that wish to make a bid for 'dates
to send representatives to the meet
ing. A general invitation for all
fair men and horsemen to attend the
meeting.
