A great hotel in Chicago is to begin the building of Hhe greatest hostelry in the world, with 2,800 rooms. From Mexieo comes the news that 4,000 sacks of r sugar are being sent into this country. The packers are being unscrambled, and something L good always comes out of a change, all croakers to the contrary notwithstanding. And the ordinary business man sees a chance to I realize on some of the hopes he has been having. Hope Is agreat thingfthe greatest In the world. It keeps some people alive, and some live on it all their.lives. ; Anybody can have it, anybody can, get it, and there is I plenty of it. Some people have lots of it. ' v W. J. Bryan is planning things for the next demo, catic convention already." XJ And Wilson is all serene, despite the fact that the -London Post says the league of peace was a disastrous I blunder, and approves the actionof the U. S. senate. r . 1 Besides them, however, the man with a second-hand automobile is a champion. . But this has nothing to do with business. Business is waking up. 'If the future didn't look I bright those people in Chicago wouldn't be working on that monster hotel. Building activities are one- of the surest signs of the expectation of stable and prosperous conditions. They, absorb a, tremendous amount of capital, which Spies inert unless there is promise of people and business to occupy those buildings and pay dividends on the in- vestment hi the form of rentals. A man may overstock on goods, and sell them, but a man can't overstock on building construction and get his money out of it in a hurry. Therefore when the construction work begins it is the best sign of all. Omaha, however, doesn't need these various signs I of prosperity from points throughout the country to en courage its activities'. It is always booming. - v Ask the Chamber of Commerce or the Ak-Sar-Ben. Look down Farnam street, or any other street in the city, at any hour of the day, and you'll see prosperity fairly oozing out of people. v Everybody seems to have money. And where there is so much, there is always a chance ,. to get some of it. Ask the gentleman burglar. ' ; Or read the reports from Lincoln. . , And then buckle down, or get aboard the prosperity airplane, and get your share of it. . There is plenty to go around, because prosperitV- is here.
