The bazaar held at the court house
Monday and Tuesday by the Ladies'
Aid of the Presbyterian church was
a financial success, every article be
ing gold. The ladies wish to thank
all who assisted in this sale. The
next meeting of the society will be
held January 21. v
' , Christmas Dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Corbaley will
entertain at Christmas dinner when
covers will be laid for Mr. and Mrs.
E. P. Corbaley of Council Bluffs, Mr.
and Mrs. V. . Rogers and Mrs. L.
E. Simpson of -Florence, Mr. and
Mrs. J..L. Corbaley and daughters,
Jrene and Bernice Corbaley.
Sunday School Exercises.
The Methodist Sunday school
will give their C-fjristmas exercises
Tuesday evening at the church. K
real Santa Claus program has been
arranged, consisting of recitations,
songs and several tableaus by the
primary folk, and a few readings
by members of the intermediate de
partment. Tfhe choir will sing
Nazareth," a Christmas anthem
that is very popular this year. At
the close will be treats for every
one. At the Sunday evening ser
vice of the church, special Chistmas
music will be rendered by the choir
under, the direction of Mr. J. O.
Mercer.' , -
' Community Center.
The Community Center will re
sume Its meetings, the first being
the gymftasium class. Tuesday
evening at the city hall. Friday
evening the Community dancing
party wiH be held. Mrj. Huntzinger
lias been secured as matron of the
rest room.

The English Lutheran church
will hold their regular 6 o'clock
service Christmas morning
- Nursing Class.

this fall will finish its course in two
more lessons.. The Thursday morn
ing class is just beginning the first
course.
Christmas Program.
The Immanuel Lutheran Sunday
school, together with the West
Dedge street school, will have their
Christmas program Wednesday eve
ning, December 24.
Mrs. BeasleV Hostess.
Mrs. Robert Beasley was hostess
to the Tri-Gity Birthday club at her
home in Council Bluffs Tuesday.
Christmas decorations brightened
the rooms, while a surprise Christ
mas gift box was enjoyed by all.
Each member of the club placed a
gift' in the box and later had the
Privilege of drawing a surprise gift
rom the box. :

- Now that the fuel ban has been
lifted the Christmas oroeram to have
been given Sunday morning bytne)- Mr. frank Marsnau, lormeny ot
Baptist Sunday school and choir will
be rendered (Tuesday evening at the
church. The program will consist of
songs and recitations by the primary
department and readings by older
members of the school. Tht choir
will render two anthems, Mr. F. B.
Oliver and Mr. F. B. Martin will
sing tenor solos, and Mrs. John
Giles will tell a Christmas story.
Sweetmeats for all the kiddies will
conclude the evening's program.

Fearl Jones will be Christmas din
ner guests at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. E. M. Jones, 3848 Hamilton

The Minnehaha Campfire group
met Thursday evening at the borne
of Fenelli Legge.
The Williams to Entertain.
Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Williams will
entertain at Christmas dinner, when
covers will be laid for Mr. and Mrs.
John Kissell, Mr. jindi Mrs. Ray
Robinson. Miss Merle Williams and
Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Williams.

Mr. George Snell, Misses Edna,
Carolyn and Myrtle Snell will be
Christmas dinner guests at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Snell.
Bobsled Ride.
Besides the regular social hour at
carda the members of the Keystone
nark enioved a "bobsled" ride and
later an oyster supper at the home of
Mrs. Ben Smith last Tuesday night

Christmas selections at the Baptist
church last Sunday morning.

Santa Claus Program,
The Presbyterian Sunday schopl
will give their Christmas program
Wednesday evening, December 24. A
Santa Claus program has been ar
ranged and songs and recitations
will be rendered by the school.
Owing to some misunderstanding
the rest room at the fire hall has
been locked and Mrs. John Giles has
been unable to conduct her story
hour. The civic committee of the
Benson Woman's club is investigat
ing the matter and a place will be
found where" the story hour can be
resumed. " -

Mrs. , William Maher " and her
mother, Mrs. McNabb, have gone to
Crofton, Neb., to visit relatives and
friends during the holiday season.
Mrs. Charles Tracy was made
chairman of the house committee,
and a member of the finance com
mittee, at the annual election of the
board of trustees of the Old Peo
ples' Home.
Miss Dorothy Dimmit of Yutan
spent the week-end at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Dimmitt.

daughter, Marjorie Fern, to Harold
R. Everett, son of W. D. Everett of
Sioux City, la. The marriage will
take place the evening of December
24 at the home of the bride's pa

of the bride-elect, and Mr. Vilas
Await will be the only attendants.

Mrs. H. A. Elli$ton, who has been
in the Methodist hospital for several
weeks and has undergone a number
of serious operations, is slowly re
covering. Mrs. Elliston will not be
able to be home for the Christmas
celebrations. -
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grape have
rented their home, furnished, in
Glen Park, and -will leave soon for
Riverton, la., where they will go on
one of Mr. Grape's father's farms.
