The Plumb plan for railroad oper ation, and the proposed alliance of organized labor will be two impor tant subjects brought up at the I7th annual convention of the Nebraska Farmers Co-operative Grain and Live Stock association, which' be gins in Omaha next Tuesday morn jnff. More than 700 members of the organization are expected to attend the three-day session. The central idea of the convention is to study the problem of the production, transportation and marketing of grain. World, condition? of grain supply and demand will be dis cussed. Recognized authorities will speak to the delegates on this sub ject. "V Among the speakers at1 the con vention will be L. F. Gatet, presi dent of the Chicago board of trade; Dr. H. H. Brown of the bureau of chemistry, Washington, D. C; C. W.. Pugsley, editor of the Nebraska farmer; Julius H. Barnes, United States wheat director; and Prof. H. C. Filley of the University of Agri culture at Lincoln. In anticipation of an unusually large attendance at the meeting, J. W. Shorthill, secretary, has ar ranged for two meeting places on Wednesday. Headquarters will be in the Hotel Rome. Coal Shortage Here to be Relieved from Rock Springs Mines Coal miners in the Rock Springs district of southern Wyoming re turned to work yesterday, ac cording to word received by S. S. Caldwell, of the Coal Hilt Co. Oma ha will receive coal from this dis trict in the next few days, Mr. Cald well says, and the shortage here will be relieved. "Although Omaha receives a large part of its coal from Kansas and Illinois, it will get its share of coal from the Rock Springs district." said Mr. Caldwell. "Omaha is really the central coal distribution point of the west." Mr. Caldwell prediced that miners in the lignite districts would fol low the example of thosti in Wyom ing and return to work. Steam plants of the city have enough coal to lasj for two weeks more. Office buildings are rather short on coal, however. Part Peters Trust Co. Offices Moved to Temporary Quarters The Peters Trust Co., yesterday moved its insurance, rental and steamship departments from the main offices in the Omaha National bank building to 1707 Farnani street. This is a temporary move until its general offices are com pleted in the Bee building. The legal department was moved to the Bee building three months ago. Fraternal Aid Union Mondamin lodge, number 111, will give a dance Tuesday evening at the hall in the Lyric building. Nineteenth and Farnam streets. Samuel Mazzei filed suit in district court for a divorce from Edith Maz zei and custody of their two chil dren, charging her with extreme cVuelty. Clara Clendlion was granted a di vorce from Earl Clendlion on the ground of nonsupport by Judge, bears in divorce court on ner charges of cruelty. Judge Sears dis missed Mr. Clendlion's petition for divorce. Mrs. Clendlion was re stored to her maiden name, Wilkin son. Metta Marie Johnson was given a divorce, custody of two children and $30 a month alimony from Louie Johnson, a locomotive fireman, by Judge Sears in divorce court( She charged cruelty. A divorce and restoration of her maiden name, Marietta, were granted to Vesta Hulsker from George Hul sker by Judge Sears in divorce court on grounds of nonsupport Charges of extreme cruelty won a divorce for Z. Taylor Mason from Nellie Mason in divorce court, Judge Wakeley granting the decree. Pauline Johe charged that Jesse Johe was cruel to her and their baby and was granted a divorce by Judge Sears in divorce court, with custody of the child. Custody of four children was given to Daisy Tayson in a decree of divorce from George Tayson, granted her by Judge Sears in di vorce court. Her maiden name, Claycomb, was restored to Edna Williams in a de cree of divorce from Louis Williams on the ground of nonsupport granted her by Judge Sears ift di vorce court. Alexander Raeburn was granted a divorce from Stella Raeburn by Judge Sears in divorce court on the ground of cruel and inhuman treat ment. They were married in 1910, and separated in 1913. ' Daisy Helvey sued Irallelvey, a Union Stock yards switchman, for a divorce yesterday in district court alleging that he struck her and, while intoxicated, threatened to disfigure her. She asks fpr custody of their child and $5 a week ali mony. Two Men Sentenced to Jail For Operating Illicit Still Thomas Yargvh, Sarpy county resident, was sentenced to three months in the county jail and fined $100 in federal court yesterday on a charge ot maintaining an illicit still. Yovan Urcscvich, South Side, also charged with operating a still un lawfully, was sentenced to 30 days in the county jail and fined $100.
