The 25 Lutheran churches of
Omaha observed yesterday as "Lu
ther Day," in honor of the anniver
sary of Martin Luther's birthday.
This founder of Protestantism, after
whom the Lutheran church is
named, was born in Eisleben, Sax
ony, November 10, 1483. His birth
day is celebrated in all Lutheran
and in some other protestani
churches.
Special exercises were given by th

of special songs, exercises and re
sponsive readings from the Bible.

Burglars Put in Busy

Burglars spent an active night jn
Omaha Saturday, according to pcV
lice reports yesterday. The Ria1tov
drug store, Fifteenth and Douglas
streets, reported that some one en
tered the store during the night and
stole 175 grains of cocaine, an eighth
of an ounce of morphine, $15 dollars
in silver and $10 in pennies.
, The Rialto Music Shop, in the
same building as the drug store, re
ported that two Columbian phono
graphs were stolen. The Peoples
Cleaners, 2416 Erskine street, was
entered by "the clothes burglars"
by breaking down the back door
The following loot was taken: one
khaki overcoat, one black fur over
coat, four blue serge sack coatsand
three pairs of pants. The clothes
were valued at $.100. ' '

street, told police someone at
tempted to gain entrance to his
house by -cutting out the panel of
the' door leading upstairs, but "they
were scared away. Nothing was
missing at the doctor's home. ,
