David Larson, newly chosen commissioner' of the Chamber of Commerce, arrived in Omaha from Atlantic City, N. J., at 9 yesterday morning. He met .members of the executive committee of the ehamber at a noonday luncheon and spent the afternoon in looking over the city. Mr. Larson, who has-been an of ficial of the commercial club of Salt Lake City, Utah, for the past four years, will assume his duties as com missioner here Uecember 1, he said. "I have realized for some time past, the possibilities of Omaha, and although I regret to leave Salt Lake City, I am glad I am going to be associated with a city like Oma ha," said Mr. Larson. Bank Clearings Attracted. "Perhaps the large bank clearings of the city attracted me, most. They indicate that Omaha ii a commer cial and industrial center. "Omaha is situated in the heart of a great "agriculture district. It is surrounded by fertile lands produc ing the largest crops of the country. There is opportunity for Omaha to make great progress." Mr. Larson said he contemplated no changes in the policy of the chamber. "I must first of all look over the situation and get posted," he said. "The Omaha Chamber of Commerce is not an organization which needs in hr. hnilt nn It has the reoutation of -being one of the best commercial organizations n the country. From Trade Conference. Mr. Larson was I introduced to members of the Kiwanis club, which met at the chamber yesterday. Mr. Larson said he was a member of the Kiwanis club at Salt Lake City, Utah,-and felt quite at home with other Kiwanians. lie spoke on the necessity of Kiwanians and ,mem be" of other like clubs co-operating with the Chamber of Commerce.
