Widow, Brother Has Man Arrested, : Widow , Tries Suicide, Uncle to Rescue, Etc. ; A seriej of family 'troubles in volving a feud between brother and sister, a refusal of the woman to marry a chance acquaintance, an at tempted suicide and the ultimate ar rest of a friend of the woman on a serious charge, was the scenario aired at central police station with 1 the arrest Friday night of Frank Kellerman, 35 years old, 1922 South Twentieth street. Max Rosenstein, 1611 North Twenty-fourth street, swore to the , warrant for the arrest, the com plaint stating that Kellerman had been unduly intimate with Mrs. Beulah Israel, 34 years old, sister of Max Rosenstein, at 1922 South Twentieth street. Kellerman was released yesterday under $1,000 bail-bond, signed by Joseph Haykin, 2222 Howard street, uncle of Mrs. Israel. Since the death of Mrs. Israel's husband last December, the wom an, mother of three children, has been unable to attend properly to running her grocery store at 1922 South Twentieth street. Kellerman, an . employe of the ; Union ; Pacific shops and a life long acquaintance, has been assisting the woman in her struggle.V : Last Tuesday noon, Mrs. Israel attempted suicide in the rear of the store by swallowing two ounces of poison. She ' told police her irothrr, Max Rosenstein, had been Uioundiii-i her to death" because she .refused to marry a Harry Rosen of Sioux City when he proposed to her." . - "I didn't even know the man, and llax wanted me to marry him so I would be able to give him $500 which he had been demanding of jne," Mrs. Israel told police. Harry Haykin, cousin of Mrs. Israel, said that Rosenstein has "pes tered" the woman for $500 in pay ment of ' government allotments which Mrs. Israel is said to have received through her brother. Lambert, corporation coun sel, yesterday stated that there is an other delay in the apfraisal of the Omaha Gas company s plant, which the city has elected to purchase by condemnation proceedings. - Judge W. V. Allen of Madison, Neb., members of the court of con demnation, has wired that he wilt be unable to attend a meeting ear lier than December 1, a meeting having been set for next Monday. George Chandler, prominent oil man, who disappeared in the blizzard in the Red desert," October 3, died of cold within three miles of his goal after tramping 20 miles through the storm from his stalled automobile. His body was found today, three miles from the camp of the Associated Oil Co. Chandler was on his way from Rawlins to the oil fields when over taken by the blizzard. Her resignation from the association will be effective November 1. While serving at the Union station as hospital nurse in connection with canteen work she met a sailor boy who was suffering from effects of a cinder in one of his eyes. She re moved the cinder and then followed the romance which culminated ir. their recent marriage at Trinity cathedral: Some of the sailors at the local recruiting office heard of the inci dent, so they went down to the Union station and looked around for cinders with which to put in their eyes. , . - .
