A supper party will open the con ventiort and its success as a bril liant affair , is guaranteed by , Mrs. Charles H. Dietrich of Hastings, - chairman of program. Mrs. A. W. Field of Lincoln, known for. her wit and wisdom, has consented to be " . mistress of ceremonies. A great treat is in store for the convention in Mrs. Frank Ambler Pattison, an advisory domestic en gineer with offices in New York City and one-time president of the New Jersey Federation of Women's clubs. . t "Shall ' Private Property Be Fur ther Socialized," will be the big topic for Wednesday, October 22. Mr. William F. Baxter and Mr. Horace M. Davis of Omaha and Hon. Ar thur G. Wray of York will lead in the discussion of this subject. , Dr. FrVd Morrow Fling, professor of European history, University of Nebraska, will speak the closing , evening on "The Making of World Peace. , Dr.Fling was chief of 'the - section of diplomatic history on the . general staff in Paris. The outstanding business feature of the convention will be the action. J taken on the report of committee on revision of the state constitution. This committee recommends that the offices of state president and di , rector from the state to the general federation be combined. It is also proposed to change the time of meeting for the state convention from fall to spring. Election, of officers, which occurs biennially, is due for the Fairbury meeting. Mrs. Addison E. Sheldon of Lincoln, president, is not eligible for re-election under the constitu tion. Mrs. M. D. Cameron, Omaha, ' director from Nebraska to the gen ial federation, is eligible for re-election under tne present constitution, but if the recommended changes are - adopted the newly-elected president will automatically become director. i Delegates' from the Omaha Wom an's club, elected at the annuaf meet ing last spring, .are: Mesdames E. Nebraska is alert to her respon sibility toward the children of the state. ; A bill sponsored by the Nebraska Federation of Women's Clubs, providing for a state child welfare bureau, passed the last state ' legislature and became a law April ' IS, 1919, when Governor McKelvie signed the bill. It is the duty of the. commission to make a cateful study of child welfare, with especial reference to Nebraska problems; to carry on in vestigation and study of the whole .subject, and submit a report to the governor not laterthan December, 1920. This is the first fall meeting and a big attendance is expected. The other clubs meeting on this night, Victory and W. D.. T. clubs, will not meet unless some import ant business is to be transacted, ow ing to the banquet on Thursday, preceding regular fall work.' Tuesday.. September 30 Lohache club will meet for supper and have a business meeting. This meeting is called for the purpose of making amendments to its constitution. At 7:30 the Fellowship club will meet and , Mrs. Ruth E. Cameron will give them a talk on "Health." Thursday. October 2, 6:15 P. M. The Fall Rally club banquet. Every club will be represented and it is hoped a large representation is planned for. Each club will have its separate table and decorations. Much fun is ex pected in the competitive club songs and ye'.ls and decorations. A prize is being offered for the best decorated table and best songs and yells. There will be an'orchestra and other entertainment. At this time registra tions will be taken for the different classis. The clubs" will meet this year as individual clubs, tyit for the most part take tip any class work by individuals. Registrations for the club ban quet should be telephoned in no later than Wednesday night, October 1, giving name of club. The skates have been ordered for roller skating and are expected to arrive by October 18. The admis sion will be 20 cents, including use of skates and instruction will be free. There will be a man to in struct he boys and two girls to in struct the girls. Many calls are coming in daily to know when it will start, but we cannot hasten the arrival of the skates.
