CRAWFORD TRI-STATE FAIR, SEPTEMBER 18-19-20. Crawford la Itself again. With tha ceasatlon of war actlvttlea and tha lift ing of the bans of "saving," Crawford again blossoms forth and hopes to re instate Itself as the real and only en tertainment canter ot the Great North west. Up to and preceding the days of war and saving, Crawford waa known throughout the western ststes aa being the Great Sho'w Center. For the past couple of years, owing to the unset tled condition and the fact that It waa a generally conceded desire to cut down expenses and put in all tha money we could Into Liberty Bonds and Thrift Stamps, etc., etc., with which to back up our government In Its hour of need, we cut out our shows and all our gala days and got right down to the real serious business of life. However, those days are now over and we hope to never come again and, "Crawford la lt aelt again" on September 18, 19 and 20, the city of Crawford will , give one of Its old time and original Trl State fairs. In the old days we had thousands and thousands with us to en joy our races, our fresk stunts, our wild west show and we hope that 1919 will again see that same old crowd with many new ones. Omaha, Lincoln. Sioux City and other eastern centera of population contributed grandly to our throng. We hope to see tha same old gang with us again this year. We have prepared a program and are hanging up purses that will Invite the best horses of the country. Craw ford never does anything by halves, but usually plays up to about 160 per cent. The following program will give you an Idea, In part, though this program la only a part of what we are really going to have. It Is a well known fact that Craw ford has the finest 137-acre park to tie found in any of the western Btates. With Its beautiful stream, shaded nooks. Its scenic grandeur, Its swim ming pools, Its play ground and Its ex hibit halls, stock exhibition pens. Its excellent racing course, racing stables and spacious ampit heaters, It Is per fectly adequate to take 'care of thous ands as we did In the old days of 1907 to 1914 and 1915. during which years we were honored by the attend nnce of both state and national not ables who mingled with the crowd of thousands and thousands who were with use fur our three and four-day sprees. During these "sprees" the "Keys of Crawford" are turned over to every visitor. Everyone forgets everything else but having a good time. We have horse racing, the best In the west, for those who like that; we have broncho lustlg. steer riding, roping and bull dodging, for those who llko that; we have the old Roman chariot races, the old Roman hippodrome races, ladles' and men's relay, ladles' and men's long distance races, for those who like that lilnd of stuff; we have thoroughbred live stock here brought in from Wyom ing. South Dakota and Colorado, to compete with our home raised, good old Nebraska products. We have soil prodncts, poultry showings, the fancy swine showings, artcraft, needle work, paintings, etc.. etc., coupled with the regular old style pumpkin sljow In fact, everything that mind can possibly conjure. Our fair Is not a common county fair but a representation of three states. South Dakota, Wyoming and Ne braska, that Is why wo are called "The Trl-State." The following skeletonized program will give you an idea of our races and our purses. This space costs us for every line so we are npt putting In the Incidental small sido Issue stunts, of which we have scores and scores. PROGRAM THURSDAY. SEPTEMBER 18. 10:00 A. M. Denver and Kan . sss City to have representatives with us to meet the hundreds of stock men who assist us In pulling off our an nual spree. No better chance In the world to meet and become acquainted with all the stock growers of the Great Northwest than at our Trl-State Fair. Every politician of the state who has the least hope of being re-eleuted to office or elected to new office, must not fall te be in attendance all three of our daya for his absence will spell his defeat. Every newspaper of general circula tion throughout the west should make it a special point to have their repre sentatives at our fair If they mean to continue a healthy circulation through out the northwest territory. Wholesale houses with accounts throughout northwest Nebraska, east ern Wyoming and southwest South Da kota, should by all means, have from ona to several representatives here to meet and hob-nob with their many patrons who will be present. We wsnt H,000 people In attendance.
