Chicago Mayor and 75 Business Men of Windy City Stop Here Mayor William Hale Thompson of Chicago was in Omaha one hour yesterday afternoon. With him were about 75 business men of Chi cago. They came on a special train and were on their way to Cheyenne, going there to get some pointers on the Frontier days' festivities with a view to staging something of the kind in Chicago at some future date. Some of -the business men who were with Mayor Thompson as serted that they never thought of putting on a wild west show in Chi cago. They were not going to Chey enne to get ideas, but instead, were out on a sort of a trade propaganda. They admitted that Omaha is prac tically in control of the Wyoming and Colorado jobbing trade, the live stock grazing on the range and the grain raised on the farms. These products, they thought, should be pushed on through to Chicago, in stead of finding a market in Omaha as the Chicago business men paced up and down the platform of the Union station they asked ques tions concerning Omaha, its busi ness and manufacturing industries and apparently, were interested. They admitted that from the depot the town looked good to them and regretted that time would not per mit ot a tour of the streets and boulevards. v Densmore Report Expurgated Before Being Put in Print Washington, July 24. You look into your mirror, smile with satisfac tion and say to yourself: Well, he didn t make sue1, a bad guess, at that." The point is: You're no older than your vitality. If a man is strong, vigor ous, mentally alert, fine and fit at 50 he has a better chance of living up to 80 than a man of 30 who is weak and run-down has of living up to 60. While none of us can stay the years nor stop time, we should all make an heroic effort to suc cessfully ' resist the effects of time, by ever keeping our vitality at par. Kelly gained publicity and no toriety at the time of the raid on the Brown flats on Cass street, on which occasion he affirmed in a signed statement that he was in league with Detectives Armstrong and Herdzina; that his woman friend was tipped off to the raid and he was allowed to escape when the raid was made. Since that oc casion he has been playing "hide-and-seek", with the police, who made a pretense at least of looking for the fugitive. According to Motorcycle Police men Cain and Croft, Kelly was first seen by the officers at the intersec tion of Seventeenth and Douglas streets, when he was driving a high powered automobile west on Doug las street. With Kelly in the car were Mr. and Mrs. Cosgrove, police say. Kelly sighted the officers and the chase was on. Turning corners on two wheels, Kelly's big car lurched and swayed and the motorcycles of the pursuers made the turns at dangerous tilts. The chase led north on Eight eenth street, west on Davenport, north again, then east. At Seven teenth and Cass streets, Kelly made a daredevil turn' in an alley. The officers shot by. Kelly and Mrs. Cosgrove escaped. "Jimmy" Cosgrove, supported by' crutches, was limping from the ma chine when the mortorcylcle police men retraced their way. I would almost double up with cramping pains caused by the gas on my stomach and I would get so dizzy and blind if I hadn't had something to hold on to I would have fallen off my car. If I ven-'' tured to eat anything except some thing very light I would have to lay off for a week and my work was just a drag and a burden to me for years.
