We feel in us
A tendency to steal
To pillage -
To pilfer
And to rob.
As one subsides
Another takes its place
And though we fight it
We find no relief.
Sometimes
The instincts
Of our cave ancestors
Surge up within
Until our eyes see red
Our muscles grind
Until the impulse rules
To beat some fragile woman
On the head
Or some old helpless man.
We long to prowl around
At night
And let the wild
In us go forth
To salvage and to slay.
Alas!
There is no hope
We are not a policeman.
We tried to join
The morals squad
So that we might
Search homes at night
Fcr loot
And beat up little children
But the sly chief winked
The commissioner blinked
At our petticoats
And said:
"Nay, nay Pauline!
You'd spoil the broth
You might tell on
Our paid and petted outlaws.
The public would
Be peeved you know
If the gang increased.
Our chosen few
May break the laws
And commit depredation."
Our tendency to steal
Subsides
We have another notion
We'll get a gun x
And have some fun
Watching for
"Lawful" burglars.

Squeeze the juice of two lemons
into a bottle containing three ounces
of orchard white, shake well, and
you have a quarter pint of the best
freckle and tan lotion, and complex

cost.
Your grocer has the lemons and
any drug store or toilet counter will
supply three ounces of orchard
white for a few cents. Massage this
sweetly fragrant lotion into the
face, neck, arms and hands each day
and see how freckles and blemishes
disappear and how clear, soft and
rosy white the skin becdmes. Yes!
It is harmless and never irritates.

Husband for Princess Mary.
English matchmakers are deeply
in planning a suitable marriage for
Princess Mary. The king and
queen are so devoted to their only
daughter that they have heretofore
refused to consider the subject seri
ously, but as the princess is now in
her 23d year they realize that
before very long the question of her
marriage will have to be taken up.
