THIN PEOPLE
SHOULD TAKE
PHOSPHATE
Nothing Like Plain Bitro-Phosphate to
Put on Firm, Healthy Flesh and
to Increase Strength, Vigor
and Nerva Force.
P
Judging from the countless preparations
and treatments which are continually be
in advertised for the purpose of making
thin people fleshy, developing arms, neck
and bust, and replacing ugly hollowa and
angles by the soft curved lines of health
and beauty, there are evidently thousands
of men and women who keenly feel their
excessive thinness.
Thinness and weakness are often due
to starved nerves. Our bodies need more
phosphate than is contained in modern
foods. Physicians claim there is nothing
that will supply this deficiency so well as
the organic phosphate known among drug
gists as bitro-phoaphate, which is inex
pensive and is aold by Sherman A McCon
nell in Omaha and most all druggists un
der a guarantee of satisfaction or money
back. By feeding the nerves directly and
by supplying the body cells with the neces
sary phosphoric food elements, bitro-phos-phate
should produce a welcome transfor
mation in the appearance; the increase in
weight frequently being astonishing.
Increase in weight also carries with it
general improvement in the health.
Nervousness, sleeplessness nd lack of
energy, which nearJy always accompany
excessive thinness, should soon disappear,
dull eyes ought to brighten and pale cheeks
glow with the bloom of perfect health.
CAUTION ; Although bitro-phosphate la
unsurpassed for relieving nervousness,
sleeplessness and general weakness, it
should not, owing to its tendency to in
erease weight, be used by anyone who
doea not desire te put on flesh. Adv.

In a statement given out yester
day tlie retail merchants of Omaha
made it very plain that the associa
tion heartily endorsed grand opera
m Omaha at least once a year.
The statement which was to re-
I fute charges that the association had
i gone on record as opposed to grand
i opera follows:
Upon request of the Chicago,
Grand Opera association, and
instructions from President
Charles B. Black of flie As
sociated Retailers of Omaha, we
address this letter to all who
should be interested, for the
purpose of clearing up what
seems to be a misunderstanding.
The Associated Retailers of
Omaha for three years took
upon themselves the work en
tailed to bring this superior
organization to Omaha, and
through the efforts of the asso
ciation membership, Omaha re
ceived some very valuable pub
licity. This year we were again ap
proached, to get behind such a
proposition, and after mature
discussion and consideration, it
was decided that the association
had asked its membership about
all the time they could expect
them to give to assist Omaha
in getting to the front as a
musical center, and therefore
the association declined to stand
sponsor for the opera series.
The association, in declining,
went on record as endorsing
strongly the idea of having
grand opera in Omaha at least
once a year, and the question
being asked, members were in
formed that it would not be any
violation of any rules and acts
of the association should an
individual member or firm go
upon the guaranty to bring this
much desired organization to
our city.
Yours trulv,
ASSOCIATED RETAILERS
OF OMAHA.
' JAS. W. METCALFE.
The impression that the mer
chants had opposed opera here had
worked against bringing the Chicago
Grand Opera Company to Omaha.
but since it has been corrected
guarantors are readily being signed
up and no further trouble is antici
pated in securing the amount neces
sary to assume the success of the
local opera season.

SELL SOFT DRINKS
Zimman Protests, But Is Out
voted by Other Members
of the. City Com
mission. City Commissioners Zimman and
Ringer engaged in a battle royal of
emphatic language on the floor of
the city council chamber yesterday.
Police Commissioner Ringer of
fered a resolution to revoke the
soft drink permit of Thomas Frish,

Frish had been convicted in police
court of illegal possession of in
toxicating liquors.
Frish told the council that he was
roughly handled by Detectives An
ton Francl and R. A. Heller at the
time of his arrest, and that he was
held in a cell for two hours not
withstanding that he had the re
quired bond money. He admitted
having two pints of whisky in his
pockets, but denied intentions of
selling.
The Frish permit was revoked by
a vote of four to one, Mr. Zim
man being in the minority.
