WORK THAT GIRLS
LIKE TO DO
that's what we have in the Snow White Bakery many kinds of
work that girls like to do.
Right now, in our icing department, there is work for a number
of girls, who Would be interested in putting icing (or "frosting") on
cakes and cookies, in dipping them in chocolate or cocoanut or other
good things to eat, in making fancy marshmallow and other cookies,
in putting delicious cream filling in creme sandwiches or Alpine
creams, or in packing different kinds of cakes and cookies, ready for
the grocery store.
It is interesting work, girls the kind of work that most girls
like to do. Our icing room is on the second floor and it is clean
and sanitary, well lighted, well ventilated, with wooden (not concrete)
floor and windows screened. Free shower baths and free nursing
service.
Your noon meal is served in the Snow White Cafeteria, where a
good hot lunch is supplied for as little as 12c. Or you can bring
your own lunch, if you prefer.
You work only eight hours per day on Monday to Friday, in
clusive, and you are off at noon Saturday, the year 'round.

As you learn more, you earn more. At the end of each four weeks'
steady work, you are paid a 10 bonus that is, additional pay,
amounting to 10 of your wages for the four weeks. So you see
it pays to be a steady worker.

Cattle The run of cattle was rather light
attain today, about 3,300 head, and the
three days supply falls 9,500 short of the
first half of last week. Demand from both
packers and shippers was broader particu
larly for yearlings and light weight steers,
and these sold 26c higher than yesterday,
and around 26 50c higher than the low
time last Thursday. Heavy cattle were not
so much sought after but even theae
brought 15 26c more than they did the
latter part of last week. Outlet for cows
and tetters was broader and prices strong
to a quarter higher and altnougn tnere
were very few stockers and feeders here
the demand was better and prices quota
bly stronger all around.

Chicago Grain and Provisions.
Chicago, June 4. Evidence manifested
itself today that a majority of corn trad
ers were deposed to assume for the time
being that the market had more than dis
counted all bullish factors. Prices closed
weak, ic to 114c net lower, with July
$1.70 to $1.70 and September SI CI H
to $1.61 ',4. Oats unchanged to c down
and provisions varying from 35c decline
to 10c advance.
It was apparent from the outset that
the buying side of the corn market had
lost the 'energy which of late had been
so noticeable. For the first time in s.v
etal days rivalry for supplies was lacking
on the part of the Industries and shippers.
Whether the transient tightening of the
money market yesterday had been a ma
terial bearish influence as to grain seemed
an open question, but there was no doubt
at all that many commission houses were
giving patrons advice to realize profits
on holdings and to await new develop
ments before Investing further. The va
rious small rallies which took place were
ascribed to shorts covering and to news
that 1,000.000 bushels of oats had been
bought for export.
Increased rural offerings of oats had
a bearish effect that was not altogether
overcome by the liberal export business.
Provisions averaged lower with grain.

FINANCIAL
New York, June 4. The money market
situation, which was largely responsible for
Tuesday's liquidation on the stock ex
change, readjusted Itself today, the call
rate for loans receding to the customary
6 per cent, and prices generally took an
upturn in a session less congested and
excited. This development was regarded
with surprise in some quartera where the
feeling had been that the decline was
to be resumed.
Special adverse Influences today In
fluenced certain stocks, such as Lehigh
Valley and Gulf States Steel, which de
clined respectively, 3 and 10 and 1 ,
points after the former company had re
duced Its dividend basis from 10 to 7 per
cent and the steel company had passed
lis quarterly disbursement. Gulf States
Steel later recovered about one-third of
Its loss.
With money more abundant, speculative
Interests purchased extensively and motors,
oils, rails, steels, sugars and most of the
specialties benefited, with advances rang
ing up to about six points. This upward
tendency was halted momentarily after
announcement of the unfavorable dividend
actions, the prices receded sharply in some
Instances, but the advance was later re
sumed with considerable vigor. The av
erage rise In specialties was from two to
five points. Sales amounted to 1,600.000
shares.
The bond market was irregular; Liberty
bonds were higher, with the Victory 4s
rising up to 100 10. Total sales, par valu-,
aggregated $9,160,000. Old United States
bonds were unchanged on call.
Subsequent to the unfavorable dividend
actions on both Lehigh Valley and Gulf
States Steel, a fresh selling movement de
pressed Mexican Petroleum 6 points, and
other shares from 1 to 4. There was a
strong rebound from this level. The clos
ing was strong. A return to normal con
ditions in the money market accompanied
by extensive short covering and confident
buying for the long account caused a gen
eral rise today In the stock market and
much of yesterday's damage was repaired.
Sales approximated 1.500,000 shares.
